Nate’s lips break into a smile before he licks a tongue over them. “How long it had been since I’d had someone touch me in that way.”

Farah giggles from the chair beside him making Nate roll his eyes.

“What I mean is to have someone be so gentle.” He sighs. “Most of the people we interact with are either hostile or people we meet through duties.” His eyes glaze over for a moment in memory. “It’s been a while since anyone has given such a caring touch…and even longer since I had such a reaction to it.”
