Question for Nat: “What is it you love most about the other members of UB?”

“Ah, now this is a question I will very much enjoy answering,” she replies with a smile that makes her whole expression bright. She first looks over at Felix, who straightens under the attention, and throws her a wink. “Felix is one of the most joyful people I know.”

He waves a dismissive hand. “Oh pfft. You’re flattering.” He grins. “Keep going.”

“Also one of the most honest. Brutally so, at times,” Nat continues with a chuckle.

“Sometimes things have gotta be said.” He shrugs.

Nat rolls her head over to look at Mason. He merely continues to puff on a cigarette in the darkest corner of the room. “I couldn’t find someone I could rely on more than Mason. And I can totally trust on them to do what is best for us, even if not for the job.”

Mason continues to ignore the attention.

Nat turns lastly to Ava, the two sharing small smiles that are playful with years of hidden secrets. “And Ava, my oldest friend, what can I say? She is a pillar of strength and reassurance in times when I need it most. I honestly would not be here today without her.”

Ava shifts in her seat, brushing down her combat trousers, obviously uneasy at the compliments being lavished upon on her.

The smile on Nat’s face grows even brighter. “All of them are my family, and I can’t imagine being without them. Ever.”
