So, I thought it might be interesting for you guys to see how my 'visualisation' inspirations for chapters that I do help me fill out a scene!

Before starting a scene or chapter, part of the preparation I do is research what is coming up and grab visuals or charts or word prompts that help to get my head really in that moment. I didn't do it as much for Book Three, and I really missed it, so I'm really pushing to remember to do it for Book Four and can already tell the huge difference it makes!

Here we have some prompts and inspiration for a scene in Chapter Two:

 --

And below is one of the scenes I used those references for (there were more scenes, as this is quite an intense moment!):

'An almighty crack of white-blue lightning slashes down through the sickening emptiness and impales the ground.

It stabs into the fissure, fracturing the ground further and sending muddy shrapnel flying in all directions—as well as Ostin and myself.

Launched into the air before whirling backwards from the force, I finally come to a painfully thudded landing and roll ten feet. When I sway to a slow stop, blood and pain are the only things to greet me.'

I am a VERY visual writer, so I'll even sometimes draw up some sketches to help really get me in the headspace of moments!

Hope this gives a little glimpse into some behind-the-scenes process (as well as a sneak peek at Chapter Two, hehe ;D)!
