What’s your favorite show to react to?

EricReacts

Oooo that's a tough one... It might actually be a show I have planned for September. I really enjoyed reacting to Heartstopper and season 1 of Euphoria because I got to talk about real issues. Last Week Tonight for the same reason. For sheer wow factor, probably The Expanse. Incredible show. Agents of Shield and The Good Place would likely be at the top of the list but I only reacted to the final two seasons of both I believe.

I was so looking forward to this and watched it immediately after getting the notification. Also, I'm not gonna let the opportunity pass to ask you again to please react to James Gunn's The Suicide Squad at some point. For me it's at the same level as his Guardians movies.

I saw this in theaters and am SO wanting to see it again, just gotta emotionally prepare myself! Would it harm the experience, in your opinion, if I watched your commentary first to ease in? 🤔

Eric's reactions to "Wonder Woman 1984" and "Mortal Kombat" were blocked on YouTube, so that's why he didn't react to "The Suicide Squad". I'd like to see him react to "The Suicide Squad" (and the upcoming "Mortal Kombat II"), but it seems unlikely.

Miru

Maybe he could do them as Patreon exclusives? I'd even be willing to pay a little extra to watch a The Suicide Squad reaction, if it is possible.

That's why I didn't do it at first but I think I could with a logo over it now. I'd try to fix WW and Mortal Kombat first though before trying The Suicide Squad

Spoilers in this comment: This might be my favorite Marvel movie, behind maybe Iron man just because wow it gets hard to watch! I get pretty emotional with human drama but animal cruelty just breaks me, even when it isn't real. Rocket is such a good character, I wasn't expecting the final chapter to be his story but I wouldn't have it any other way. I absolutely love seeing how each guardian grew and changed over the years and their true love for each other is so palpable even when they make fun of each other. I read in an interview that in the end when Groot speaks, it's not that he is actually speaking English, its that we are finally close enough to him to understand hi9m like the rest of the group does, like Gamora does in the end. I know there was so much more hype and excitement around the Avengers series, and I do love them, but I think Guardians is the superior series. Even in its ability to allow characters to truly grow and change and even leave the group. I love that they didn't try and push Gamora and Peter to get back together, she already has a family. And I never even considered Peter's grandpa I love that he went back to live with him. And the callbacks to Rocket's character setup in this movie are so cool to see. For example, there is a moment in the first GOTG where Rocket absolutely loses it on Drax for risking the entire group by staying and trying to fight Ronan. And another scene in the second where he tries to get the guardians to leave so they can live even though Peter isn't on the ship. It all goes back to when he stayed and attacked the High Evolutionary and ended up getting Floor and Teefs shot. A lot of people are saying his love of robotic arms and body mods goes back to his friends in Batch 89. I imagine him building new parts for Nebula dreaming about how he could have modified Floor, Teefs, and Lylla's mods to make their lives better. (IDK if its explicitly stated in the movie but Rocket is the one that upgraded Nebula's arm and hardware). Everything involving batch 89 made me cry so hard, the ability for them to remain so hopeful and kind in their torturous existence even with everything they went through is so heartbreaking but good to see. Everything about Lylla Floor and Teefs broke my heart. Rocket's first word being "hurts"?? why did James Gunn need to stab my heart?? In the end when he asks if he can go with them in the afterlife, like they would ever be mad at him and say no! You just know he blames himself for them dying. Also, I was so happy to see him save the animals in the end. Ever since I read about the Neuralink monkey trials (not for the faint of heart, they pretty much tortured monkeys) I can't stop picturing the High evolutionary as Elon Musk. I am not surprised but also disgusted that the FDA approved them for human testing. The fact that Elon gets any work is a testament to how we live in a world run by rich people for rich people. sorry to get on my socialism high horse for a moment lol. I could gush about this movie and Guardians forever so I'll stop here. One more fun fact lol the music in every volume ages by a decade, so it started with the 70's, and this one is 90's/00's. My nostalgia music haha so I loved the soundtrack in this one (not that I didn't in the others, but this one added to the whole story hitting so close to my heart) There is a super sweet video of Florence (of Florence and the machine) reacting to the ending. She wrote and performed Dog Dsays are Over, the finale song of this movie

It's pretty high up there for me as far as MCU movies go. Might need to do a tier list at some point. Maybe when the multiverse saga is over. Thanks for pointing out the callbacks to previous movies! I didn't remember the one from the 2nd movie. I feel like I brought up Elon Musk's monkey thing in a commentary recently but have no idea if it was for this film, but definitely agree with the comparison! Sad that James Gunn is leaving the MCU, but hopefully this means good movies on the DC side.
