Primitive Tech vs High Tech

We take low cost thermal electric coolers or TECs and reverse the process to produce electrical power from interesting and readily available sources of heat. could I replace a window with those devices and generate power from the winter here in Canada?

What a great campfire and hydro project to supply your inefficient thermal junction. I could see a thermosiphon and rocket stove start to make this worth its weight for power generation. I do think when introducing folks to energy production that it is important to mention wood "can be a renewable resource." This requires good forestry stewardship and limiting the usages. but it is diffenately not unlimited! I am new to patreon ... I am guessing that we can see responses to questions and that this question is not answered.

oops ... no return keys here ... in ref to the previous question I feel that liquid is a much more efficient way to supply energy to the device. Air requires a large heat sink and hundreds of deg delta temps like you see on those wood stove fans powered by heat (thermoelectric). In regards to a window being used as the site for harvesting energy, you have to remember you are already consuming energy to heat you house. It make no since to recapture less than 5% and block the window from its function to collect solar/light or allow a view outside. It makes more since to put a R20 foam pad in the window to save heating energy at night!
