Hello!

With the recent developments in Super Mario 64 and carpetless now being a serious viable option to save time, I have been considering the possibility of sometimes tackling "speedrunning news". More specifically, explaining new strategies or tricks that revolutionize a game in a 5-15 minute format.

In the case of carpetless, for example, I would have explained what the old strategy used to be with a very brief rundown of why it was near impossible, what the new setup looks like, what makes it easier, what makes it still very hard, how much time it saves and why. I would have talked about how it shakes up the 100-coin route in Rainbow Ride and why you can't put the level earlier in the run, stuff like that. Essentially answering every question people would have about the discovery, short of being an actual tutorial. Note that I am not doing this for carpetless: I'm quite busy with the current project, and I sort of missed the boat already - I would've needed to get to work right away to have a chance at a semi-relevant video release time.

I'm simply wondering if this is the kind of content you would like to see from me, or if it's something you think I should leave to others. Please let me know with a vote and/or a comment!

No one explains speedrunning tricks better than you, so making these videos sounds good if you’ve got the time and interest. If you’re interested in doing this, I support it!

This seems like a perfect fit. In the case of carpetless, I've had it described to be, but I'm still confused. I know you would make it make sense.

I really like seeing new trick discoveries. I like the technical explanations though. Not so much the Karl Jobst ( no dig, just a different style, and what I think of when I hear 'speedrunning news') style of "this new speedrun just happened, lets talk about it".
