Production update 2023-08-09 (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone!
I have made some decent progress since my last update, so let's talk about it!
Silo map
The map is completed and works! I found out, however, that the data I can get from the guards is sort of incomplete. Their target position updates a bit later than I thought, and unloaded guards often snap to different nodes rather than moving smoothly, so patrolling guards look a bit weird. Despite those limitations, I think there is a lot to learn from looking at the map, so I'm glad I went through the effort of making it.
Progress
Progress has been a tiny bit slower than it should've been but I'm finding my stride.
After getting a lot of the video recorded in two days, I kinda lost my momentum and let it sit there for a long time. I need to kick myself and finish that voiceover!
The editing has been going nicely. I got into the actual run, and now I'm at one section where there's a lot of different things to talk about, so it kinda feels like it's going on forever. I'm over the hill though, and almost done with the first of the two really big sections of the video. Once that's done, onto the second big section: the first fuel room where I break down luring guards, explosions and whatnot.
Music choice
I spent some time figuring out the music I'm gonna use for this video. It's mostly going to be from the GE007 OST, but I want to bring at least one song from Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. I'm considering a second one as well, we'll see how it goes.
Goldeneye 007
Using: Caverns
Most likely will use: Runway, Bunker 1, Aztec
Might use: Cradle, Bunker 2, Statue
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
Using: Port of Adia
Might use: Primagen's Lightship, River of Souls
Pictures!
Alright, time for some pictures. Unfortunately, I don't really have a lot of visually impressive material. Most of the work goes into finding clips, TASing demos, and the map. Nonetheless, here's what I have:
Does this ring a bell?
Make sure to read all that.
Dramatic name reveal.
Top tier video quality.
Could this get any more classic?
A view of Blaze's run + the map to show the guards off screen.
Patrol guards have set paths and cycles so Blaze uses the level timer to know where every moving guard is.
The seven crate/grenade guards in the stage.
That's it! I'll try to make a production livestream next week. I'll post the date in Discord. The expected release date is roughly around the 20th for now, maybe a couple of days later. See you next week!
