Production update 2022-10-17 (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

Part 7 has been out a little over a week. I've been relaxing a bit, but I've already gone back to work and finished up all the added material to Part 8.  So, how did Part 7 do?

Well initially, actually kinda great! It was 2/10 in recent release for 3 to 4 days, but then it lost steam and ended up pretty much dead average. At this point, it's performing exactly like I expect the ABC videos to perform: they are super well received for their core audience, but they struggle to pull in new viewers. As always though, publishing it gives the whole series another small push, so it's sort of like, an average release + 6 small little pushes that combine to be pretty great for the channel as a whole.

Part 8

The script is now as complete as it can be for now, and I will make sure to include developments from the next few weeks as they happen. When this video gets out, it will be once and for all truly caught up with the ABC. I can confirm that Part 8 is the end of the series. For now, in its current state, it will be about 40 minutes long, and so I expect it to take about 5 weeks to edit. I figured my numbers from last month (estimated 3 weeks of editing) would have to be changed with all the recent developments.

I also started recording today, and I will start editing on Wednesday, or possibly Tuesday.

My schedule is pretty packed. My girlfriend no longer works on weekends and boy, there's a difference. We've got something lined up basically every single weekend from early September to mid-November at this point. I moved my Saturday editing to Monday to compensate.

If you compare with last time I posted a schedule for this video, you can see there are many more sections between LLL and the remaining A presses. We're doing 15 more minutes of TTC, oh yeah!

Music

One last thing: I posted the music for the ending of Part 7 and I got a lot of comments on the video asking for the music, or for the whole piece. Well, thing is, I actually did just record what you hear. The fadeout happens exactly when I stopped playing, there's nothing after that. But, there's so much interest for it, I figured I might actually want to record the full piece! So, I relearned it (had to shake off 10-12 years of rust and memory loss) and I plan on recording it sometime in the next few days. Then I'll post it on my Soundcloud.

That's it for now, I guess. Not much to show since I haven't directly started editing yet. Unfortunately, production livestreams, which I've mostly done on Saturdays in the past to allow them to be as easy to watch as possible, might not be possible to do on weekends this month. I'll see what days I have free and try to do it then. Otherwise, it just might have to be on Fridays. There won't be one this week, but there might be one on Sunday, October 30th or November 6th. I'll keep you updated.
