Hello everyone!

I hope everyone enjoyed Part 4. Here's a quick post-morterm!

In terms of performance, the video has been a little underwhelming. It makes sense, though, as it's a bit locked in the niche of the ABC history series. I was hoping the series would pick up momentum over time, but it's been losing some.

However, the reception in the comments is perhaps the best I've ever had. It has the highest like/dislike ratio I've seen yet with 99.5% likes (most of my videos are in the 98% range). It seems like a small difference, but 99.5% is 3x fewer dislikes as 98.5%! Everyone who did watch it seemed to enjoy it very much, and I am very grateful for that. Having slightly lower view counts doesn't really bother me too much so long as the people who do watch it still have a great time. 100,000 views in a week is still a great overall result, and the ABC series will be a key asset of my channel for years to come.

Meanwhile, the retention is at an all-time high. People are glued to their screens! Compared to the YouTube average, retention is way above average for the entire duration of the video.

The main issue is the CTR, or Click-through rate. A good CTR is about 10-15% in the first day or two, and 5% in the first week. It's already down to 2.7%. I'm tempted to play around with the title and thumbnail, but I do like having a consistent aesthetic for this series' thumbnails so they're easily recognizable. It might be worth shaking things up, at least for a week or two.

Now, what's the plan?

Well, like I hinted in the previous update, I'm working on a secret, glitch reveal video! It's gonna be a little bit longer than I initially planned, enough that I think I can consider it a full fledged video. In the past, I've released some follow up or side videos that were ~10 minutes long and I've never counted those as a release for Patreon, but I think this one, which should last just short of 20 minutes, might qualify. I don't really have a clear line to decide this, so I go off of how much time and effort goes into a video. This one will have been close to 3 full weeks, since I wrote the whole script while I was still working on ABC Part 4.

The plan is currently to release this video for the game's 25th anniversary (NA release). What game, you might ask, came out in February 1997? Well, it's Mario Kart 64! (1997-02-10). This means that the video is set to come out in less than 72 hours from now. The deadline is coming up real fast, and so I've been hard at work trying to meet it. Now, it's definitely possible that I end up missing that deadline, and so the video is still under wraps until I am sure it will be ready in time. No one knows about this, so keep it on the down low for a day or two. I will announce it publicly fairly soon.

Meanwhile, here's what the progress looks like:

I've got about 8 to 9 minutes left to edit and at least two pieces of music to record, so I've definitely got a lot of things on my plate. I'll be hard at work in the next two days!

About the other exciting news

Finally, the other exciting news I hinted at in the last update are not quite ready to come out yet. But, when this video is done and released, I will be taking a couple of weeks to work on that project. It's gonna properly come out in the summer, but I think I should be able to tell you more about it before the end of the month, if what I've been told is right. This is a super exciting project, and I really can't wait to spill the beans. I'll keep you updated!
