Two hours and I loved every second of it. Rebellion is certainly an interesting watch, and it is very much a shock to me that it has a sequel. Second time watching this, I can definitely digest everything a bit easier. Homura is such an interesting character and her selfishness is one of the biggest themes in this movie

Ok not gonna lie I still dislike this movie. The original ending is so great, the movie "goes full anime" with plot devices to top old plot devices. I still consider the original ending to be the end of the series for me.

This is a bad opinion. It follows the logic of the world, narrative, and characters to move the story forward, not "plot devices" lol. It's one of the best natural developments I've seen on this large a scale. I also really can't understand what people mean by the end of a series "for me" (for this, or any other series), as that's simply not how that works. Whether you like something or not, it doesn't end where you consider it to end. This movie is a canon main entry to the story, it's the end of the story for you at the moment whether you like it or not.

This movie is one of the VERY few pieces of media that I consider to be an absolute masterpiece. I literally cannot point out a single flaw within it, from the story, the direction/pacing, to the art/animation, the music, to the characters, and keep in mind that I'm an extremely nitpicky person when it comes to visual media. Nothing short of a paragon of the entirety of anime in my opinion. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, 10/10. The ending is one of the best parts about it. Here's to the next movie coming out soon!

Isolation Field, "my demon form trumps your god form", bittersweet ending for the magical girls turned into happy afterlife, so much ruined from the original ending. Art is not objective, I don't like this movie so I don't consider it cannon and won't watch any direct continuation. I'm not saying I have the only valid opinion but this movie really ruined my enjoyment of the series the first time I watched it, now I can just laugh at it.

My other comment got deleted I think... In response, to put it politely this time instead, You're objectively wrong about all of the things you said aside from your opinion on the bittersweet vs happy ending (which even then could be argued that it's not really happy at all). That is all. Let's hope you come around to go full circle and eventually enjoy the movie and watch the continuation in the future.
