If you continue with the series post Bake, I recommend you watch Kizumonogatari next. It really adds some needed context to certain character interactions in Nisemonogatari (which is what would come after Bake if you watched the show in Anime release order as opposed to Novel release order).

Almost every OP has a lot of hidden details that either become clear during the arc or some time after it, they're fantastic. One more detail in this one is the choice of lilies to symbolise Kanbaru being a lesbian, them falling apart when Senjougahara rejects her in the OP just adds to that. And yeah, this is the first real fight in this series and its just insanely brutal, which contrasts so much with the series not really having any fights very often. There's a pretty good argument that the brutality of the fights is exaggerated due to the story being told in a first person perspective, they're not really all this brutal its just how brutal Araragi feels they are. That argument is definitely true for at least one fight in the series, but there's one its definitely not true of and this one I personally think is pretty accurate to what really happened, since after it cuts to the more real version of events when Senjougahara walks in Araragi is still extremely messed up with what looks like a hole in his stomache. There's a massive difference between the TV and BD version of this fight, thankfully you' have the BD version. I'll post a comparison in the discord just to show how massive it is. I have played paintball a few times as a kid, pretty fun. As long as nobody is an ass about it and shoots you at point blank or repeatedly it just stings a tiny bit. Thanks for the great reaction, this is definitely a stand out arc for me in Bakemonogatari.

There aren't many "fights" (Araragi getting the everloving life beaten out of him) in Monogatari, but damn are they great when they do happen. Another great arc, Kanbaru's character is one of the most fun and interesting to see develop over the course of the series. Great reaction as always, looking forward to next week!
