Honestly I think these two episodes (96 and 97) are the weakest in this arc. Kinda feels like filler to randomly bring in the Phantom Troupe for a bunch of battles, but now we can get back on with it :)

It's fan service but it's nice to see the bigger picture, shows that the ants are a widespread threat, but also that there are a lot of strong humans out there who can measure up to them.

yeah I commented this before seeing this since Patreon doesn't update always. The show hasn't actually said that Kalluto is a boy as far as I am aware, and Kalluto himself doesn't correct anyone who gets it wrong (probably since he kills them shortly after anyways). So you didn't miss anything I don't think, Zen.

It's a very relevant part of the grander story imo. We heard information about the ants spreading out, however we almost saw nothing of it. We needed to see *someone* deal with some ants. And the Phantom Troupe made perfect sense. It also allowed Togashi to properly introduce Meteor City.

Disagree. Much rather cut a couple of the build-up episodes than these two. Yes it's filler, doesn't mean it's weak.
