No they never mentioned Hisoka being in the Phantom Troupe, this was the big reveal! And this episode is probably the weakest episode of HxH, the goofy exposition threw me off. But really cool to get the reveal of new Phantom Troupe information and Hisoka’s connection with them.

My opinion is just the contrary, all the subtle things that we see about the characters and the foreshadowing, even the plot twist in the end is amazing itt encapsulates everything that HxH is about, how the things are never what it seems. However I agree that the exposition about the Kastro fight could be smaller

Yeah, the exposition here wasn't very smooth, but exposition is pretty key in how the story is told for later arcs. Also, the manga in general is pretty notorious for its exposition that even hardcore HxH fans can have a hard time putting up with it.

yep fights like these is the reason why hxh is my favorite anime..at least in terms of shonen battle 1- not dragged out for 10 to 20 episodes ( i still love one piece and dbz lol ) 2- I won't say boring but this isn't your simple hand to hand combat its so smart and tactical like a chess game make you on the edge of your seat 3- I like mental battles but some animes makes it too complex with the abilities or having to overcome your opponent 10 times hxh is not of those complex obsession animes both in fights and in themes ( especially the theme of there no good or evil ) that made me dislike a lot popular animes
