that was incredible, and not only the music but the background art was so well done. They looked like full paintings

Really liked it in the manga, loved seeing that episode in the show. It’s good to see Kenzo be proactive and get the training he needs if he wants to find be save while pursuing the monster. Also I think that at this point he just wants to stop Johan (by force if he has to), once the story progresses a bit more I think he feels he has to kill him but then there another “reveal” that puts a lot of the things Tenma and the audience knows about him in question (either way he has to be stopped). The more it goes on the story makes them kinda look like two sides of the same coin, two very smart and talented people that can change people’s lives for better or the worse. As for the detective, Lunge just sees Tenma as the only link between several murders and he has no other suspect that profited from the murders or was at/near the scene of the crime.

I realize this is a pretty long anime, does the pacing hold up all the way through?

I’m still not through but I love it (so far) by now I’m about at the half way point. I think it’s really good at pacing the story by side stepping from time to time introducing new characters then showing their link to established characters a bit later. Also brining back characters like Eva the episode before, when you might think that they’re no longer important. I’m keeping it as vague as possible but anything I mentioned isn’t a spoiler for what comes next, the next arc ramps up very fast and is really exciting.
