Hope you had a good start into the new month! :) I wanted to start it with something new and refreshing ^^

So I mentioned some time ago, that I'm trying to create some VR images (and some of you also asked my about it). Unfortunately my PC kept crashing, as those scenes were simply too demanding for my system and I had to fiddle around a lot to get them finally running.

So here's my very first try on that! There definitely have some strict boundaries about how detailed a scene can be and as I'm a lover for fine and small details, these VR pictures lack some of those details... (I really can't wait for the new Nvidia graphics cards!)

I recommend viewing those pictures with a VR Headset of course but you can also view them with any VR player on your desktop :)

I will probably post one more VR scene here for everyone and then in the future you can find them in the "Mega" Tier :)

Really looking forward to your feedback on this and would love to hear your thoughts!

Thank you so much for the support <3

Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of 360 VR. Its a lot more work for a gimmick that doesn't add much in terms of experience. Not to mention not everyone has VR headsets. I still very much Love your other stuff though.

I can totally understand that! Everyone has it's preferences, and yes it definitely takes extra work! But I'm curious! Have you ever tried 360 VR with a proper headset? :)

Yes. I used Merge Vr Headset For Iphone 6 plus a year and a half ago. I viewed SorenZero’s Deus Ex with it and honestly I didn’t feel like it added anything to the experience than if it was simply a full hd video. I gave it away after not using it for half a year.

Ok, just my two cents. VR on a phone, is nothing compared to VR in a dedicated headset. Phone goggles only have a low resolution screen shared for both eyes because you're limited by the phone itself. Plus field of view tend to be fairly limited, therefore creating tunnel vision instead of proper immersion. If you can, give this content a try in a dedicated headset. You'll see that the difference is night and day :)

I'll comment on this one first since it was posted before the garden scene. While you may say it doesn't have enough details, I'll tell you that for a VR360 render, it's filled to the brim with little things to look for. The sense of scale is awesome though perhaps still a bit too big? The reason I say that is because we feel taller than the little dude running away. Though it's an issue I've faced myself as back when I produced VR360 renders, there was no efficient way to increase FoV in an equirectangular camera in Blender. If you have tips to do that in Daz, I'm all ears. Finally, it's a real treat to see the attention to details you place on your characters' feet from so close. They look amazing in your 2D renders, but it's just something else when they tower above. Which made me realize you must be using crazy good normal maps and textures for feet cause I'm nowhere near close the level of quality your have :D

Yeah I was also kinda surprised by how different it looks in a 2D picture compared to a 360 VR one! I haven't really used Blender yet (only for the Google Maps conversion) so I won't be of much help :/ I wouldn't say my normal maps are really special ^^ I usually just use the given ones and increase them a little bit. Some of the "Daz Originals" Characters have quite good default maps!
