My friends and I have been playing Wartales since it launched out of early access earlier this month. I'm having a blast. It has all sorts of stuff I love. Co-op, turn-based tactics combat, RPG choices and character progression, exploration, tradeskills, and the kind of sandbox freedom that really shows you which direction someone's moral compass is pointing.

Want to survive by skinning and eating the corpses of the foes you fell? No problem.

Want to capture people in chains and force them mine ore for you? Go ahead.

Want to then sell those slaves to a prison for profit? Sure.

How about selling everything you have to merchants for gold, and then just turning around and slaughtering those merchants to take your stuff back? Okay!

Want to go on a crime spree, and then when the law catches up to you, claim it was your alcoholic work pony and stand by as they're hauled off to jail? Go for it. After all, you can just go break them out of prison afterwards.

I've been playing Rimworld too much, apparently, because everything he said makes perfect sense and seems like really good ideas.

Considering the comments on Steam, it was this good and then they took the fun away?
