My oldest son has been obsessed with axolotls since he was five (he's nine now). He also enjoys playing card/tabletop games. So for the past few months I've been designing/workshopping/playtesting an axolotl game to surprise him with, called Axe-A-Lot-L.

It pretty much writes itself; the goal of the game is to chop the limbs off other players with axes until you're the last one (literally) standing. But, since axolotls have some of the most impressive regenerative capabilities science as found, you can also regrow limbs to keep yourself in the game.

I'm not sure when I'll be ready to call the game "done,", but playtesting has been going really well so far, and I think I'm zeroing in on what will be the first "beta" build for the game.
