I can't figure out what Overwatch 2 is supposed to be.

I mean, I've read as much as I can about the "sequel", I know there are some new heroes, tweaks to existing ones, their fancy new "fuck supports" feature... eventually there will be some single player maps nobody knows anything about? But new heroes, new maps, some balance tweaks... isn't that what they've been doing for the past five years? I'm struggling to see how any of it amounts to more than another update (or series of updates) to the game. It all seems built on the exact same foundation they already have.
