TLDR : I have to upgrade my pc to make better smut, luckily I can afford this, just.

Anyway.

While doing some tests with cycles, I tried rendering two of my most complex characters, my gnoll, and my lionman.

Long story short, I ran outta ram, and my PC crashed. I can only render one of the characters at a time. If I want to keep using cycles, I am left with few options.

I can upgrade from 16 to 32 gigs of ram. (DDR3 RAM) This will cost $313 USD, but I can afford it, thanks to you guys.

(And hopefully I can work with this, though I may still need to drop the hair count a bit more.)

I would like to get more then 32 gigs of ram, but It seams like I'd need DDR4 Ram for this. I'd need to replace almost everything in my PC to support this.

And that's super expensive.

In the mean time, it seams like I'll have to make one last EEVEE animation. (The render engine not the pokemon.)

Also, I have just ordered the parts, and I got express shipping, so hopefully they get here soon! Thank you all so much!

I'm getting four 8 gig sticks of ram for my pc. Thank you all so much for making this possible!

I still have a shot at the dream yet!   >:3

Thanks for doing what you are doing :3

If you want a good upgrade later on, you should take a look at the lastest Ryzen 3rd Gen CPUs coming out this 7 July. They are already breaking world records from Intel at a third of the price. They are extremely dependent on memory speeds tho, so DDR4 is a must. Also, you probably have it enabled, but check your GPU usage when rendering. If it's unused, enable CUDA GPU rendering in Blender (Available in Cycles for sure, dunno about Eevee or what it uses), this will help a lot. Finally, I dunno why your disk is stuck to 100%. Is it a SSD ? If not, forget all about the RAM and get a SSD, this is the single best price/performance value upgrade.

A ryzen 3rd Gen CPU sound nice, but the main issue with upgrading my pc is that I have an older motherboard. If I want the latest parts, I would have to get a new motherboard. Due to this, I would need to get next gen everything, the only exceptions being my gpu, hard drive and power supply. At that rate, I might as well just spend a few hundred more for a whole new computer. (One can only dream!) As for an SSD, my motherboard cant take one. So I can't go and try one out.

I'm surprised that your Motherboard can't take a SSD. As long as you have SATA ports (Even SATA 3Gb/s), you can plug-in your SSD. If you're out of SATA ports, either replace one of your SATA device, or get a SATA expansion PCI card. I plug SSDs at work to 15 years old computers to give them a new life a few more years of service. And believe me, you want a SSD. This is the single most important upgrade if you are still running on a HDD, by an order of magnitude. If you mean that your Motherboard is not compatible with M.2 SSDs, just go for a SATA one.

Huh, I was all but sure my motherboard was simply too old, but I'll definitely look into this, I'll get a change to really look at my motherboard when my ram arrives. I had no idea this was a thing, thanks so much for the heads up!

No worries, I am 100% sure you can install a SSD. You'll see, going from HDD to SSD is a life changer. Just remember to move your OS (Windows) to your SSD using a partition management tool once your SSD is installed. (I use AOEMI software at work, but I think minitool can do a disk copy for free.)
