Hi everyone! Regardless of your skill level, this is an essential video for feminization. Please watch and listen carefully!

Sorry it took a bit longer to get this one out. I ended up making a large video segment on this feature. We will discuss, hear, and explore this concept across 3 videos in this series. This first video is meant to anchor, establish, and ground the quality into meaning so we can explore it further next time.

Most folks (specifically those with testosterone-induced voices) are conditioned to think of lifting their pitch in the same way as they would imagine lifting a heavy object. Its more healthy to think of pitch like pushing an inflated ball under water - where it actually requires more effort to keep the ball lower underwater, and bringing the ball to be level with the surface requires less effort. We need to think of the gravity of lifting our voice as being the opposite of conventional wisdom, with the gravitational force of pitch moving upward. This could help folks stop viewing voice feminization as trying to jump with a boulder glued to your feet. If you're conditioned to view raising your pitch as if you were defying gravity, of course you would start to strain your voice!

This is...quite an interesting inversion of how I tend to think for sure! I've always associated high pitch with tightness, maybe in part because some of my family play guitar and it always seemed they were tightening the strings to change the pitch, so that's what plays out in my head. Perhaps it was because it shortened the strings, rather than tightened them? At any rate, voice is different from how I thought. X3 Also, that sound of "strain" is certainly what's holding me back right now, so this video is wonderful to see. Part of that due likely to not using my voice enough, and part due to a bit of allergic post-nasal stuff and acid reflux causing me to cough. Or maybe not, because women often still have a noticeably femme voice when they're hoarse. Ah well. X3 Going to drink some tea to try and help. Keep up the great information! Very excited to learn from everything you put out. =3
