HF Patch for Koikatsu v3.2 / コイカツ！のmod更新 (Patreon)

An update patch for Koikatu! and Koikatsu Party that installs the latest fan-made English translations and essential mods, as well as fixes common issues with the game.

It will allow you to load all character cards and scenes and give you countless content creation and gameplay improvements while still keeping the original, uncluttered feel of the game. All content is tested and fixed (or removed) as needed before each update, providing a stable platform for further modding.

Koikatsu can be split into two parts: character and scene creation tools (character maker and Studio), and an adventure game with story mode (it can use your custom characters, but not scenes). You can see preview videos of the game and some of the mods here. 

HF Patch does not contain the full game, paid expansions or any other pirated content. You have to buy the game and expansions separately.

The base game (Koikatu / Koikatsu Party), and by extension this patch are not suitable for minors. If you are under 18 years old you can not use this patch. The base game and this patch contain only characters of age 18 or higher. The creator of this patch is not responsible for creations of its users and prohibits any unlawful use of this software.

If you need any help check the wiki first, and if that doesn't help then ask in the #help channel of the Koikatsu Discord server. The #help channel is the fastest way to get help, you can even search it for your issue to see if someone already answered it. There are also chat and card sharing channels on the server!

To keep the download size reasonable, some of the less used mods are not included. To download them you can use the KKManager mod updater - run it at the end of HF Patch or from the game's launcher.

Solutions to common issues

• If after installing the patch you have issues running the game, restart your PC and try to install the patch again with default settings.
• If after installing the patch Studio hangs when loading, start KKManager (it's in a folder in game directory) and click "Look for updates" at the top, then tell it to update the Studio modpack.
• If you have trouble downloading by using the magnet link, try updating your torrent client or use the latest qBittorrent (it's known to work well).
• Make sure you downloaded ALL parts to the same folder and that the parts all have the same name. You need ALL parts for the patch to work. If the installer asks you for another disc it means that your download was not extracted correctly and is missing files, or you renamed or removed some of the extracted files. 
• If you see any messages about corrupted files you'll have to re-download the offending part (or all of the parts).  If you downloaded the torrent, most torrent clients can "force recheck" the downloaded files so you don't have to re-download the whole thing.
• If your antivirus is flagging the .exe file make sure that you've downloaded the patch by following links in this post. If you are sure the download came from the right place, it's most likely a false positive (it's a common issue with non-signed application installers).

Changelog

This release took a lot longer to complete than expected, sorry for the delay! I had to fix many, many issues in the patch and included plugins before I was happy with its stability. Non-English-speaking users will see the most improvement, but most of the fixes apply to everyone. I hope that this version will be stable enough to let me focus on the HS2 release :) 

Patcher changes / 変更

• Added a check for game install directories that can prevent the game from running properly (the patch will ask you to move the game to a different directory)
• Added a readme file explaining what different UserData folders do and how to use them (it's created in your UserData folder)
• Added an option to check for mod updates to the end of the install process
• AutoTranslator and the Custom Launcher are no longer a part of English translation and are installed by default for all languages (they are now automatically configured for the correct language)
• If unnecessary Koikatu files are detected in a Koikatsu Party install, Koikatu files will be removed to avoid issues (the patch will ask for permission)
• Clean up some branding files left behind by other patches and modpacks
• Fixed desktop icons not having the correct name in some cases
• Fixed fixing permissions not working on some systems (with some non-English system languages)
• Fixed multiple copies of one HF Patch version number sometimes appearing in launcher
• Fixed not closing Koikatsu Party and Koikatsu Party VR during the cleanup step
• Fixed some game files not being updated in some cases (e.g. the original Japanese launcher not getting installed)
• Fixed some wrong AutoTranslator config settings being set in some cases (reduces log spam)
• Fixed ignoring plugins and zipmods disabled in KK Manager during cleanup
• Remove KK Manager's temp folder during cleanup
• Remove KKUS if it is somehow installed to KK Party (it breaks KK Party maker)
• Updated Japanese translations
• Updated license to be clearer

• KK_SFW v1.0 (Adds family-friendly/streamer mode with all lewd content disabled. Off by default, can be turned on during installation and later in game launcher)
• Re-added Sideloader Modpack - Studio (A cut-down version with less often used mods taken out. If you already have these mods installed they will not be removed. You can get all of the remaining mods by running online update at the end of the patch)
• KK_StudioSceneSettings v1.1 (Adds more effect settings for scenes)
