Mint Condition Sony BVM D24E1WU Low Hours (Used) | eBay

Sony BVM D24E1WU, the Holy Grail of CRTs. Condition is "Used". Even though this particular BVM did not need any service. I still got it fully serviced and recapped to future proof it. The BVM has 10005 hours right now.

The listing violates several of eBay's TOS and should be reported. The seller is requiring cash payment in the description even though PayPal is enabled as a payment method, and also said they will cancel any sale that doesn't go to someone with perfect feedback history and high amount of total feedback. They also admitted to cancelling the last sale for an invalid reason. This is all explicitly against the rules of eBay and are listed as choices when you try to report the listing. I urge anyone here who sees this ad to report it, so that this behavior does not continue with CRT listings on eBay.

Yeah, it didn't say all that extra stuff till after the price was lowered on it. Good catch. Definitely do your homework by vetting the seller if you are truly interested. Either way, it does violate eBay terms so it will probably get pulled.

Also i would add that I think this guys over reaching a little bit with the whole "mint" thing. Closer examination of the willingfully inadequate photography reveals scratches and other blemishes, which is ok as long as you call it like it is "not so mint" condition. Mint I think would be no visible imperfections. I suspect that for the asking price and the dubious claims of pvm perfection, a clear well lit photo of every single side to back up the said claims of mintie freshness would be warranted. I dont know bout you guys but when I hear lofty claims and see dimly lit pictures showcasing only certain parts of the monitor and from a distance they are allready suspect to me.

Interestingly enough - this exact same monitor ( by the same seller) was on sale roughly 1.5 years ago for $3,750. I vividly remember the images from back then and they weren't updated at all. Just a bit more tidbit of info for anyone interested to purchase.

So I’m on deck to buy this next week. Anything you recommend I should look for? I’m going to make sure the seller has a system hooked up so I can test it out properly.

Hey Alessandro. We’ve talked on FB before. Are you saying that he’s using the same pics from when he first listed it in 2019? If so, I can ask him about it. I’m set to buy this next week.

Hey folks. I’m set to pick this up next week (the seller and I came to an offer below his listed price) but I noticed y’all had some concerns with his listing. If you have any advice on what to look for/questions to ask, please let me know.

UPDATE: So I just talked with the seller. He did say he reused some old pictures but provided me with new ones, and even Facetime'd me and showed me the BVM. The screen is in great condition. The chassis has some scratches and one minor dent, but overall still looks good. He showed me the service menu live, on camera. It's at 10006 hours, which is right around what he listed it at. He also showed me live gameplay, and provided me with message logs from when he originally purchased it, and that he got it refurbed by SavonPat. I actually just reached out to Pat to see if he remembers this. The only thing I don't like about the sale is he wants cash instead of PayPal, but since I'll be going to his house, testing the monitor, and getting his name/address, I don't feel totally uncomfortable with it.
