Cool video. I too have this monitor. Mine seems to have a weak rube tho. The picture had a green tint. Had to crank up the blue and red gun quit a bit. now the whites are fine but its still a dim picture. I dont think this is a cap issue, or might I be wrong? There is a small pot to adjust convergense on the main board, if needed.

Thanks. It does sound like a weak tube. It's possible to use a Rejuvenator to try and recharge the tube, but it's tough to get access to one. I did see that pot on the board. Thanks for the info

hey Steve! Did you run into any issues with sync while taking this monitor through it’s paces? I’m lining up to purchase a DT-V1700CG for a great price but the owner warned me that it struggled with accepting the sync signal from his Genesis and PS2. That’s got me real concerned since the Genesis uses CSYNC. I think the DT-V1700 employed some sort of automatic sync detector? But it strikes me as odd since the RGB analog board has a “Cs” input for composite sync. As far as I can tell, it and the 1710 are identical, but the latter lets you manually select external or internal sync. I really don’t want to miss out on this one because the monitor only has about 1700 hours clocked and it’s practically flawless, but the horror stories of picky sync with this one I’ve read on the web are scaring me!

Hey Kenan. I've heard that monitor is picky with sync, but it should accept CSync. Unfortunately I've not used that exact model and the 15" model I owned was not picky at all about sync. The best option may be to get a scart to BNC adapter with a built in sync stripper or if you have a Gscart that will also clean the sync for you.

It's a really great monitor though and worth getting even with the picky sync.
