The results are in for the character poll (Patreon)

Hey everybody! 

The event is going well so far; we're up to 29 new patrons which actually puts us almost halfway to reaching the next 100% milestone and an additional image to go with the sequence. 

So, now on to the final character poll results...

Out of the 8 characters in the final poll; the top three were trading first place pretty frequently. Cynthia, Zelda, and Sabrina stayed pretty much tied for the majority of the weekend. 

Sabrina fell pretty far behind in the last stretch over on patreon; but on Subscribestar's poll, she actually took first place by a wide margin, with Zelda in second with half as many votes and Cynthia surprisingly at near last place overall until this morning where she managed to climb a few places up. 

In the end, the totals add up to

Sabrina: 19 + 10 = 29 Votes

Cynthia: 32 + 4 = 36 Votes

Zelda: 34 + 6 = 40 Votes


So, Zelda will be the one featured in the transformation sequence. I will be posting a new poll here shortly to decide on what outfit she will be starting with, as well as which iteration of her she will be; given the rule on age, the options will be BotW 1 or 2 versions (2 being short-haired) and the Twilight Princess version. 


Anyways, thanks everyone for your support. You guys make it possible for me to do what I do, and I'm going to keep trying my best. The new Spiral Clicker live updates should begin in the next day or two so keep your eyes out for that as well.

Couldn’t you base it on any of the outfits from Hyrule Warriors?

Honestly a little dissapointed i feel like there is far too much zelda stuff out there already people should give lesser charecters some love too

Unfortunately, I can't find what age Zelda is in the first Hyrule warriors; and in Age of Calamity she is 17. As far as I've researched, BotW Zelda is 117, BotW II Zelda is either 117 or 118, and Twilight Princess Zelda is 20.

(How do you reply one mobile...) Zelda is only Chronologically 117 if BotW - but based on her appearance I would estimate around 18. (As long as nobody can prove otherwise, you can handwave it.) Partially because Hyrule Warriors has outfits from many things, including BotW and Twilight Princess. (Her model looks more like TP, than any of the other versions...)

More obscure characters can be fun to work with too; this event was a poll so it ending up with one of the more popular characters winning is to be expected. xD

I prefer to have solid answers on age and avoid doing things like "This is the legal age Zelda wearing the costume of an underage Zelda" to skirt the rules. It's entirely possible that sort of thing can work, but it's also entirely possible that it won't work. If it got reported and I got an uncharitable person looking at the piece, they would probably just rule "if it looks like this version of the character, then it is this version of the character"

Some of the outfits from Warriors are ONLY referencing games - and since the art style is so different, it’s hard to mistake them as actually being those versions. (And unlike some versions of Impa, she’s just captain of the guard there, implying Zelda is of age. If we assume she is the same age as Link - adult versions are somewhere between 17 and 20, so more likely that she is of age than not.)

I understand your arguments. The problem is, I'm not the one who has to be convinced. It's Patreon's rules and they are *not* nice about enforcing them. If they think the version of the character isn't old enough, they won't kindly ask me about it and hear my explanation, they'll shut the whole page down and send me a letter asking me to remove any offending works and apply to be reinstated when that is done. I've seen it happen to several other artists, and some of them never were allowed to re-open their pages. It's not something I'm willing to risk.
