Half in the Bag Episode 119: Shut in and Arrival

Mike and Jay talk about Shut In, a new release movie that everybody has already forgotten exists, and Arrival, an intelligent science fiction drama that was beaten at the box office by an animated children's movie based on those big haired troll dolls.

not gonna lie, you're making me want to watch shut in.

The BoTW movie Jay was referring to with the line "not for this movie" was "The Item" from the episode with "The Crawlers" and "Blood Lock"

While The Inside sounds like a masterpiece, I'm still waiting on you guys to get started on Silent Screams

You guys seriously need a series where Mike comes up with movie plots. I would watch the shit out of that.

You guys did make "The Recovered"... and that's a horror movie set in a house. I'm splitting hairs here, haha.

I hope Arival runs in English somewere near me. I was considering seeing the new harry potter dealio this weekend (there is one english movie per week in the german town i live in) but it´ almost 15€ (about 16$) and i can´t pay prices like that on a weekly basis while i get a million tv shows and movies for "free" via netflix and amazon prime video...

I didn't care for Arrival, and knew nothing going in. Guessed the ending twist halfway through, and was underwhelmed

The discussion of Arrival is interesting.

We need extra scenes of you two riffing on the movie idea. Better be an exclusive video for Patreon, you hacks ! Make it like 15 minutes long !

Good man! I remember him (Jack?) saying it, but not the episode...

Agreed - one of my all-time favourite BOTW episodes was where Mike came up with "The Wall" (based on Humpty Dumpty) and a load of other silly movie plots!

Did you ever see this short film version of Mike’s “The Inside” horror movie pitch? https://youtu.be/VA-Er78Vrtg
