Sorry, we had to take down the Prey video because of dumb youtube crap. It'll be back up shortly.

My evening plans... RUINED.

release the original RLM Prey cut :-) (on Patreon)

Laura Robles

I was watching it with my girlfriend and we were about half way when my friend came in and said she wanted to see Prey so I had to stop it, I went to get my headphones so I could finish it, but my girlfriend jokingly said I had to wait until my friend left and she could also watch it with me. And then I got the notice it was taken down. I was like “noooooo!” So I will never let this go.

Got in there before the takedown. I think about 60% of the video is not actually talking about the film, and I'm completely fine with that.

Daniel

Dang it! Was planning on watching after kid was in bed!!!!!

Angry Badger

I was really jazzed to watch this after finishing it, like, an hour ago with my dad. Damnit.

I missed the first video. There is no real alternative to YT at the moment, is there?

Nebula, but it's a paid subscription on the part of the user. There's always Vimeo but from what I understand it's shit from the creator side.

The komache thing works in concept. In the original movie, it's like the most blunt metaphor for the Vietnam war possible. IRL, American soldiers have tech and military stuff so advanced it makes them seem like aliens to the local Vietnamese people, but Vietnamese guerilla fighters used local terrain knowledge and clever shit to give them hell. In the movie, it's an alien with super advanced tech doing the same thing to the American soldiers that they're doing to the Vietnamese and he is defeated in the same way. Super simple metaphor and it works. Using native americans and including reference to colonial forces to make that same metaphor is in line with the original in concept but different enough to be interesting. Haven't seen the new movie so it could be shit but those complaining about the premise lack basic understanding of the original movie.

wondered why YouTube pushed the video on me as if I hadn't watched it when it first came out
