Hey everyone! We're currently working on a Half in the Bag for Prey, the newest Predator movie that is on either Hulu or Disney+ depending on where in the world you live. Streaming services are fun to keep track of! In addition to that, Jay and Rich are planning to do a re:View of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Rich loves it, Jay has somehow never seen it.

Jay Bauman: the good. Mike Stoklasa: the bad. Rich Evans: the Rich Evans

Holy shit, Prey was good, apart from a couple of hiccups. Plus, it was gorgeous to watch. The cinematography was so rich and stark. Take that, Shane Black!

I have never understood why “The Good” was considered to be good. The movie should have been called “The Smart, the Bad, and the Ugly.”

Bleachedblackcat

Oh good now someone else can watch and tell me if Prey is good or not and I don't have to pay Hulu

schopi

How has Jay never seen it?!?

schopi

It's very good. The best Predator movie since the first one by a country mile. Obviously made by people who understand why the first one worked.

Daniel Ellis

Jay can watch 17 hours of Twin Peaks return but not 2 1/2 hours of a classic western. On the flip side Rich seems like the person who's seen every Eastwood movie

It's not. The big problem with every "Predator" sequel (even the good ones) is that it takes half the movie to get the characters to the point where the audience is since the first movie... lots of "There's something out there...". Yes, I know... it's seven feet tall, from space, can turn itself invisible, likes to hunt, get on with it! Also, I remember how people shat themself when Adrien Brody played a hardass mercenary and they didn't buy him fighting a Predator, but nobody has a problem with a small, slender girl as a substitute for Arnold, who looks like she weighs 50 kilos soaking wet...? :/

Manuel Johnen

Also, "Prey" has what is probably the worst predator design ever... that thing looks like absolute shit now. Can't beat Winston's original...

The comanche dub is great. Lipsyncing is a bit rough as expected, but you don't really notice it as you're reading the subtitles anyways and there's not that much dialog. Checked out couple scenes with the English audio afterwards and it's pretty painful. Can't really have indians speaking modern English in the 1700.

Nice! It's always fun to see Rich enthused

It really surprised me that a cinephile like Jay had never seen "The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly". But then I realized that he gets to see such an all-time great classic for first time but in HD widescreen... which makes him one helluva lucky bastard!

Someone should have told Jay that it had a bunch of midgets doing incomprehensible but extremely gory stuff.

Even though your half in the bags are pretty good, I am not as interested in actual movies as I am seeing you guys enjoy terrible movies and black spines.

This is the best news of all time - OF ALL TIME! So very curious how Jay will like such an incredible movie. "There's no name on it!"

How can Jay watch it after his cat bit/destroyed his tv?

I'm still wondering if Jay eventually got to watch Lethal Weapon... I remember him saying to Rich that he's never watched it, and that's quite astonishing, considering it's an excellent movie. That could be another fantastic "Jay's never watched" Re:view.
