Woo, endless refreshing has ceased

Wait I thought this was supposed to come out tomorrow

Wow years of anticipating is finally over. I can't wait to watch it and then completely forget about it in a day....

"I loved it", but I'm guessing this will be the last Plinkett review related to Star Wars, you basically covered everything possible!

What's "Star Wars"?

Anonymous

Birth control.... :|

Prepare your body for maximum plinket

I got a message previous to this asking if we were ready for something Plinkett related at the weekend, were we Patreons privy to the video early?

Anonymous

Thank you RLM. Looks like today won't be the day I hang myself in the gas station bathroom. Not today Satan. Not today.

Anonymous

this was a masterpiece. I spent a lot of today stomping around bitching about how slow you guys are at getting it up, but it was worth every second. The perfect full stop on the prequels, and the perfect assessment of the franchise as a whole. And on top of that, a review of TFA.

Anonymous

I think this might be the best of the Plinkett reviews so far.

Amazing job - love it. The gay SW character montage was freaking hysterical, and the take-down of SW ring theory and Disney's approach to the new trilogy (simultaneously giving George a pat on the back for at least trying some new stuff) was brilliant.

This was great. Just like all the other Plinkett reviews, this makes me want even more Plinkett. It's weird because this is the first one I've watched with all the added context from years of HITB / BOTW.

Plinkett is back, motherfuckers!

Disappointed in no cat sex. The mention of it was nice, but doesn't make up for it entirely. Was a lot of fun otherwise I guess.

Ah, projectile diarrhoea ... Splendid!

Before the Titanic review was the weakest, now it's this one. The line of reasoning, the structure, the cohesion and the arguments are muddy and superficial. It makes me sad. You don't have in you anymore. You are just going through the motions. The spark is out. There is nothing more that I can look forward to.

The choice of topic was a mistake. It's beaten. Everyone knows that bullshit is bullshit. There is nothing there to learn or understand. It's not inspiring at all.

Anonymous

This was great and holy shit it must have taken forever for you guys to edit this. Thanks for all your time spent! Gotta say I loved all the Star Trek parallels and thoughts you included. In a way, this was probably the best, most honest commentary and acknowledgement of your role as a critic and how much the culture of movie critique has changed over the past ten years. It'a a mad mad mad mad... world. ;)

Can't tell you guys how much I've needed some extra laughs in my life the last couple years. Thanks so much for all your hard work.

I thought this was another hilarious tease post about a new plinkett review, but it's just the actual review, ah well guess i'll just watch it then.

I particularly appreciated the trouncing of the "ring theory". Mr. Plinkett remains the most scholarly source on the good and bad about Star Wars that Pizza Rolls could pay for.

great!

Another hysterical and insightful breakdown, thanks guys I Ioved every second of it.

I have mixed feelings about the Plinkett Review. For sure I laughed a lot and thats what matters I guess. I see TFA very critical and cant give it a pass but you covered some of my points and I am not the target group of Disney anymore anyway. So just like Pitch Perfect II this film also wasnt made for me. I guess it really comes down how VIII will be. Something really new or just another copy? I find it sad that in a Plinkett Review the main topic is racism and diversity etc. Point is that after being confronted with this on a almost daily basis I dont really want to hear about it in my recreational time. But I guess thats where we are in 2016. Not Mikes fault. Just the reality.

Nice work! Insightful, as always.

I enjoyed the movie. Yes, it was a soft reboot, but some elements were completely new. For instance, I don't think I've ever seen a villain quite like Kylo Ren. It's hard to give your villain serious character flaws without also making him seem unthreatening (e.g. Syndrome in The Incredibles).

Anonymous

Great as always. I liked when missed opportunities came up and you show Leia walking passed Chewie to hug Rey instead of him (which would have had a lot more impact). Also liked all the shit in the end.

This Plinkett was more skillfully done than the previous Plinkett reviews. It seems RLM has stepped up their game in the 4 years since the last one.

Mr. Plinkett's The Star Wars Awakens Review is the most disappointing thing since my son.

That turn where Lucas was almost looking like the good guy versus Disney, how he at least tried to make a different film. That was the first time I sort of moderately felt a good feeling regarding him and the prequels. Nicely done. This was the best orchestrated Plinkett review so far.

Anonymous

And then, remember that time, he likened Disney to White Slavers? Oh man, that was awesome. Good times...

There is a clip of Kathleen Kennedy saying that they couldn't wait 2-3 years for Michael Ardnt to write a script and they just used some of his stuff and wrote the thing in no time, the industry movie making machine.
