Hey everyone! Thanks for all the nice comments about our Halloween Best of the Worst. It was a heavy episode both in terms of shooting and editing so we're glad people liked how it turned out. We had to use pretty much every light and modifier we had to properly light it, so even breaking down the set and trying to organize our lights and get everything back to normal was a big pain in the ass. We'll be posting outtakes from the episode here in the next few days.

Now that October's out of the way, we have at least four video ideas to shoot in the next month or so including a spotlight episode of Best of the Worst (not sure on the exact movie yet but we have it narrowed down to a few options) as well as a couple of re:Views, one for the kind-of forgotten sci-fi film Enemy Mine and yes, we will be doing a video about Dune. Not a Half in the Bag but a re:View comparing the Lynch version to the new version with our first guest in about two years, Colin from Canada!

Anonymous

I've gotta say-- the lighting and color balance on this one was just sick. Fun episode overall, but technically looked fantastic, as well.

Anonymous

Great work!! The camera work on the Halloween episode was especially great. Did you guys use an automated, curved slide? The subtle camera movement added tons of value. Also YESSSSS COLIN IS BACK

Anonymous

Enemy Mine AND both versions of Dune!?!?! STOKED! 😍

Colin from Canada hype!!! Looking forward to Enemy Mine as well. Fun times.

jas722

Enemy Mine was a HBO favorite of mine back in the day, awesome to see a small scale SciFi film that just focuses on characters.

Anonymous

good shout on the Dune:view. loved the Halloween episode of BotW, really enjoy the extra effort you guys put into it!

David at The Vinyl Score

What a great update! the Halloween BOTW had some great editing. Awesome production value.

Anonymous

Colin AND a Dune re:view??? What a happy day.

Anonymous

Enemy Mine? Oh Star Trek References are incoming XD. There is one episode that had a very similar story to the movie, but I can't remember it exactly anymore. But yeah, I visited the Bavaria Filmstudios where parts (all of it?!) were filmed and I kind of liked the movie, but wouldn't have thought that you guys would make a video about it.

Anonymous

So hyped for that Dune Re:View

Dave Pallas

Happy to see Colin and happy to see Rich looking really healthy too.

Anonymous

What happened to reviewing American Horror Story?

Anonymous

Colin and Dune - Christmas is coming early!

Jeff Kleist

Don’t forget the miniseries. Sure it was made for $1.95, but it was book accurate, and by light years has the best Baron. I’m hoping for the spotlight to be Vibrations. ;)

JTruts

You guys have absolutely been killing it lately, appreciate all the work and the humor is still top notch. I'm excited for Colin, curious what Jim's up to as well? His deadpan delivery in BotW always made me chuckle. Hope you bring Len back sometime too.

Anonymous

Awesome! You guys fuckin rock. I look forward to every video you release and I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into them. Bravo! Excited to see Colin again!

Anonymous

omg Collin is coming back yaaay! The Halloween BOTW was great, of course it was hilarious but it also looked fantastic, it was worth all that work

Anonymous

Thanks for all your work, especially not plagiarizing anything 👍🏻

Dane Liergaard

Yay Colin! Now get Freddie back and all will be well again.

Anonymous

Can't wait! And we appreciate that huge pain in the ass ya'll dealt with -- it was worth it.

Anonymous

Glad to see at least one of our Canadian friends will be back for a bit! Hopefully Jim gets to come back too.

Cameron Kilgore

Thanks for all you do. That Halloween episode was really great, even if it didn't have a rock and roll movie.

Anonymous

holy shit! re:views, botw spotlight, and Colin all in my birthday month! you guys are the best

RedVIII

Oh heck yeah, I missed Colin so much, honestly! I hope you can do a BOTW with both Canadians soon as well!

Anonymous

I woke up thinking about Enemy Mine this morning so now I’m a little freaked out.

Rudy Casale

Lets go!! Enemy Mine has been on my list of movies to watch for awhile now. Guess I better get to it. I'm looking forward to nice sci movie about a mine. Also can't wait for the Dune video. Will this be the first time they really talk about Lynch's Dune? I'm more excited for that than the new movie (and I was HYPED for the new movie)

Anonymous

Yay Colin!!!!!! Love that little leaf

Zan Ferguson

HELL yes to Enemy Mine. And HELL yes to 1984 Dune. And HELL yes to Sgt. Zima!

Anonymous

Thank you so much for being so up to date on Patreon updates. You're the only people I subscribe to on Patreon because of your timely updates and professionalism.

Anonymous

yes! Lynch Dune vs New Dune! That's precisely what i wanted to see! Thank you guy for this great service you do to humanity!

Eli Harold

I've been getting my Colin fix by listening to his podcast No Such Thing As A Bad Movie it's really good.

Marvin Falz

The lesson from Dune was "always get final cut." The lesson from episodes with Colin from Canada is, always get Colin from Canada back, and always get Jim from Canada back, too. I already can hear them flyyyying in nooow...

Anonymous

Please do a Plinkett review of Eternals and/or Ghostbusters Afterlife

Jake Martin

Awesome Colin's back! Also Tim is clearly now an official "member" of RLM (like Wizard)

Anonymous

I would like to request Colin do his Gary Busey, thank you.

Oh no, the visual effects artists from Canada are multiplying again!

Nathan Campbell

The Canadians are multiplying again!

Ken_Broth

Looking forward to it

Amanda

Yes, I love a re:View!

Michael Parker

After the two Suspiria Re:views, is this going to have to become a new subcategory of Re:views? Old vs. New?

Rhea

Colin my beloved

Anonymous

Colin's back, sweet!

Anonymous

Can’t wait to see Colin again!!! Yay!

Anonymous

Sweet, long time no see Colin from Canada!

Anonymous

Sounds great!

Anonymous

Dune in the hooouuse!

Anonymous

Fantastic! I won my bet on the dual Dune re:view! Now for the over under on if Jay is going to be forced to talk about dune 1984.

Anonymous

Enemy Mine, wow that’s hitting all the warm fuzzy 80s sci-fi nostalgia buttons

Anonymous

Colin my sweet

Joey Hollywood

I love Enemy Mine! Looking forward to the Dune videos! I used to really dislike the Lynch movie as a kid, but I really dug that Spice Driver Fan Edit of Dune 1984

rachel

Maybe we’ll get lucky and see Colin as a guest on the upcoming BOTW as well 🤞

JakeA503

So happy to have at least one of the Canadians back.

Jessie Zimmer

Damn y'all are busy. Thank you for the updates and the endless entertainment. And, yay, one of the two Canadians are back! I've missed seeing Colin and Jim in videos. Seeing everyone else so excited for Colin's grand return makes me smile. Bunch a wholesome people.

Anonymous

Did the other Canadian manage to get away?

Anonymous

“Opinions are like assholes. Mine are right.” I need that t-shirt. Not a scratchy 100% cotton one I’ll never wear. A nice poly-blend. I’ll buy it.

Timonger

a re:Watch of ENEMY MINE!?!?! I'M SO HAPPY!! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!! HOORAY!!

SBMoonbeam

going to have to wait a few years for Villeneuve to make the rest of the film to be able to compare them

Jeremy W

No HITB for Free Guy or Shang Chi?

Rick Drake

Can we look forward to other beloved regular guests returning soon, such as Mack, Freddie, and Len?

Jim Partridge

This is tremendously great news. A DUNE comparison is what I thought I wanted this whole time, but there is apparently something I now crave more. ENEMY MINE is perfect for Re:View and has such wonderful lessons. It might not be perfect but it sure has a heart. Can’t wait!

DonMac

Now you have me wondering who at RLM is a fan of the 1984 Dune.

Mithos56

Enemy Mine is a hidden gem IMO

Anonymous

You guys gonna do a Half in The Bag for Eternals? It's the first Rotten movie of the MCU so I figured you'd guys be interested. Heard a lot of comparisons to DC movies to that one

Anonymous

I was thinking the same. Jay mentioned it back before the Demonic HITB in late August. I still haven't watched the second half so I don't know if they just lost enthusiasm for it, maybe it was terrible? Figured they'd at least want to talk about Mack, he was pretty good in the first part.

Anonymous

Over/under on the number of times Mike references TNG Season 3 episode "The Enemy" during the Enemy Mine re:View?

Anonymous

I noticed recently that you guys have been censoring violent shots in the movies you watch a lot more frequently. It really seemed to happen a lot in the Halloween BOTW. Is this because of Youtube policy changes? I seem to remember you guys used to only ever censor nudity in the past. Exploding Varmints and the real-life police injury images from Surviving Edged Weapons were maybe the only exceptions I remember until recent months, but that's obviously real violence as opposed to fictional. Just curious if you guys were being pressured by outside forces.

Anonymous

I always look forward to the Halloween episodes and you guys didn’t disappoint. Keep up the amazing work. I love all that you guys do

Anonymous

Wow that was fast lol, I think the border just opened yesterday basically

Anonymous

Fucking love ENEMY MINE! Although I don't think I could bear to watch it now after becoming a father. Not yet anyway.

Anonymous

how can you even re:view dune its such a garbage fire.

Anonymous

Now were they ripping off Enemy Mine or Hell in the Pacific? that's the question. Still a great episode.

Anonymous

Canadians have been able to fly into the US for a while now, it's just land borders that are opening

DonMac

I'm guessing Jay is paired up with Colin for the "Dune" double-feature re:View given that a David Lynch movie is involved, making Jay mandatory. And I guess "Enemy Mine" will be Mike and Rich because it's a Star Trek-y like movie so that alone should repel Jay. (Now to wait and see how wrong I am.)

Anonymous

It's fun. Weird but fun. Once you've seen it you'll never forget it.

Anonymous

excited to see colin again and for the Enemy Mine discussion. always thought that movie was basically a Star Trek episode

GadgetBlues

More a Battlestar Galactica episode - they did the Enemy Mine scenario in Galactica 1980 S01E10 "The Return of Starbuck". Starbuck is stranded on an enemy planet with a Cylon and they become friends. There is even a baby, although a mysterious woman shows up, already pregnant, to have the baby because of course Cylons are machines.

Timothy Liebe

The ending gets a bit STAR WARS-y, but up to that point it's a surprisingly faithful adaptation of Barry Longyear's novella....

Anonymous

I'm so happy to finally have Colin back one of the best guests.

Timothy Liebe

I have to disagree - I really liked Villeneuve's DUNE: PART ONE, though I would love to see a Re:Vue comparing it to Lynch's version and the Sci-Fi Channel mini as well....

Anonymous

Glad to see you guys aren't going to skip Dune. Any of the RLM gang fans of the source material?

Anonymous

The lighting was EXCELLENT on this episode! Really enjoyed it.

Anonymous

So excited Colin will be back!!

Anonymous

Loved the episode & excited for Colin! One request / dream: could you review the Mads Mikkelsen film 'Another Round'? Not sure about its US release schedule & apologies if it's been requested already. But it's an homage to drinking (its wonders and its depths) - an amazing film that I can see RedLetterMedia embracing. Love you guys x

Anonymous

Enemy Mine was so huge in Soviet Union, it was pretty much the first American science fiction movie to be shown in theaters there, many people went to see it multiple times. I'm pretty sure most people went to see it. Ironic considering the fact it was a flop in the US.

Anonymous

Enemy Mine is wild shit!

Anonymous

nice, colin is the best

David S

These are all great updates!

Anonymous

DUNE! Hell yeah!

Anonymous

Thanks guys, Enemy Mine is awesome. That was also one of those movies that was always on cable randomly through the 80s and 90s, excellent pick!

Anonymous

Oh hell yeah! Hope it’s a Jay + Colin re:view, you guys have great chemistry when talking about films

Manuel Johnen

Is there ONE movie that's bad enough to NOT have any fans...? :/

Rhea

Sp... Spa...ssp...aaa... Ss...sp...pace...ccc...cco...

AllGoodNamesRGone

Honestly, my first thought was Mike and Colin. Just because Mike has spoken before about his love of intelligent, serious science fiction that you rarely see in movies nowadays. Jay's awesome and we all love him, but I was hoping to hear Mike's opinion about the new Dune.

AllGoodNamesRGone

I was curious about that set. Was that filmed in the warehouse or on location? Because if that was a built set really well done RLM crew.

Stephen Navarrete

You guys are doing a good job and I like it.

Xanthias

Sounds great, but no Half In The Bags planned?

Anonymous

the Dune comparison sounds fun! Seeing the new one tonight - don't forget the TV movie version from around 2000 - which has forced perspective background miniatures they put too close to the actors and you can see their shadows falling onto the "giant cities" 3 feet behind them

Anonymous

YAY COLIN

Anonymous

I really wanna hear Jay talk about Last Night In Soho

Netero H

Colin from Canadaaaaaaa!!!!

Jeff Kleist

New York ninja is glorious, I know someone there bought it or vinegar syndrome send it to you :-)

Anonymous

Really would love a Half in the Bag for Dune. A re:view comparing the two is also a great idea, but this is quite possibly the biggest sci-film of the year and it seems like a Half in the Bag is warranted. Happy to hear Colin is coming back!

Anonymous

I thought the set looked really good this year, so it was funnier to watch Jay trash it.

Fox

Awesome idea!
