Half in the Bag Episode 162: Avengers: Endgame

It's the new Avengers movie. You're gonna see it.

Josh Marjonen

Ive been looking more towards you guys reviewing this movie than actually seeing it 100% serious

They fell asleep.

No Rich? 😢

The arrest that happened in my theater made for an exciting second act.

Everybody likes Brie Larson, BUT - rewatching some old Half in the Bag episodes, I found that the movie "Room" is interesting for its topic and for her acting. Also, I need to watch the finale of Voyager. And, I never imagined to say this: I'll check out some of the Marvel stuff, Iron Man seems like an interesting character, Black Widow, Thor. But still, fuck Discovery.

Britt Kessler

Someone give Mike a cup of coffee.

Nathan Carlson

Would you guys watch these comic book movies if you didn’t have to for the HitB?

Anonymous

he's dead. or back from the dead. or undead. I can't keep up anymore

Anonymous

Did you guys not get hyped about Cap summoning Mjolnir?

Anonymous

I think this ep was an indicator that they'd be content just leaving them behind but the reality is, it gets them big views and there's worse things they could be talking about.

Sammy Allouba

The next threat for the Avengers could be Galactus, if they're able to bring in the Fantastic Four.

Mikell

Mildly disappointed to see almost your entire review was nothing but nitpicking. Not even *good* nitpicking, complaining about things that shouldn't have confused you if you'd been paying attention. I'm not even a huge Marvel fanboy, and I love you guys but damn. If I want to watch a review of this depth I'll go see cinemasins.

Top Hat Monkey

Rich was credited at the end, but I watched it twice (as you do), but didn't even see a Rich Easter egg. Maybe he will be in the outtakes for this episode?

Anonymous

I think they just run a generic credit sequence for HITB episodes and Rich is credited even if he wasn't in the episode. Maybe he helped film it?

Anonymous

Mike with arguably his greatest Star Trek reference ever in this episode. The "Endgame" episode of Voyager had to have influenced this movie in some way, the time line tinkering is way too similar and the name could be a nod.

Dan Port

Needs more Evan Richards- ATTORNEY AT LAW!

Peter Robinson

I haven’t seen it, should I watch the review first?

Miles Long

So who was King of Wakanda for the past 5 years? And did he give up the throne when Black Panther came back? Wouldn't the new King have been given Black Panther powers and a suit?

Miles Long

When the characters got snapped back, wouldn't Dr Strange and Spider-man be on that dead planet?

Mike St Louis

This was the only reality that Doctor Strange saw where a rat was able to set things in motion. All hail the rat.

Miles Long

5 years of hanging out at Avengers HQ and Widow and Banner does not develop into something more? You know Widow wanted some of the bean stalk.... ;)

Miles Long

Hawkeye Should have used his last bit of Pym particle to save Widow after he got the soul stone. They could have used Widows last bit of Pym particle to time warp both of them back via Freddy Kruger style.

They were. You can see Titan in the background when they come through the portal.

My husband is mad because Mike spoiled the end of Voyager for him ... 😅

Also, no commentary on "that kid" at the funeral? (I guessed who he was and was right.) And no predictions as to who he might be in later movies (if he was brought back as a setup for MCU version 2.0)?

Anonymous

Yes, they had NO clue what to do with Cpt. Marvel. Literally no clue

Anonymous

which kid? i was getting drowsy at that moment, kinda don't remember it all

Anonymous

I clapped when Mike made a reference to Star Track.

Anonymous

It made me laugh a lot when Mike said something about their "lineage, their legacy" because it made me remember how Plinkett in the doco says: "My cats are my lineage, my legacy" and now I keep saying that to my cat.

I've reached such a point of saturation where even a HitB covering an Avengers movie feels like I'm hit in the face by a Marvel executive. Not to say that this review is paid, this would be ridiculous. Just that I'm so sick of these movies that I'll sit that one out. Same for any future Star Wars. I'm now officially a cranky old fart.

You're not alone

Anonymous

I completely understand, you don't have to insult yourself for feeling that way. You're the sanest one among us. The Disney overload in pop culture is easier to deal with when it comes to RLM than it is with other online reviewers because they do such a good job of diversifying their content with their other shows. If you don't want to watch the 76th HITB episode on a MCU movie or a Star Wars movie, you can easily ignore it and get your RLM fill via Re:View and BOTW. Look at the brightside, at least they haven't done Game of Thrones reviews...yet.

Anonymous

I'm one of the few who were disappointed in the movie. I dunno, maybe I'm starting to check out of the mcu. On a different note, anyone know what cameras rlm use to film? Their stuff always looks fantastic.

Joey Hollywood

Mike watched Season 2 of Star Trek Discovery, I hope there is a re:View on it!

Peter Robinson

I can cope with the plot holes (what happened to everyone who died because people suddenly disappeared? Did people reappear in the airspace their planes were in? Do you get 5 years added to your prison sentence?) It did a better job of finishing a franchise than the latest Star Wars films. It was better than I expected.
