i always assumed he was breaking pencils as a defiant way of saying "your opinion and your lessons are not worth writing down."

"Society" seems like a spiritual cousin of these films. Would love to see a Re:View of that sometime in the future. Great episode!

Society is a special kind of movie. And Brian Yuzna was Producer and one of the story guys on Reanimator and From Beyond

Daniel Staniforth

I've never seen these but they seem pretty interesting, if somewhat out-there. Barbara Crampton, was also in Chopping Mall, which I think was from a Best of the Worst review. It's great to spot people in different reviews.

I've been waiting for these ever since you guys started re:View- I simply could not love you guys more! Well, maybe a nerd-crew dissecting the title reveal of that new Ron Howard movie...

Society would be tricky because it would be impossible to discuss without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen it and it absolutely should not be spoiled. --->jay

I always refer to Stuart Gordon as the Godfather of Gooey after watching From Beyond.

Get Scream Factory's From Beyond Blu-ray. It's well worth the 22 bucks!

These are a tad too graphic for my taste but the affection Jay has for them is just heartwarming. re:View videos are just the best! Love them!

From Beyond taught me a new way to eat brains!

Christian Dannie Storgaard

Those are two of my favourite films ever made. Even if they aren't technically masterpieces, nothing beats their atmosphere and humour and I actually don't think there's a single week where I'm not reminded of one of them.

I love those two films. Great choice and very heartwarming and funny discussion. I already posted that on Facebook, but there's on YT an interesting interview with Richard Band, music composer of Re-Animator (and From Beyond), about the music of course and its obvious borrowing from Psycho, but also the filmmaking and especially the tone choices for the movie : https://youtu.be/c04qZFMT73I

Great episode as usual. Jay, you need to watch Three Amigos.

somehow, out of everything in this episode, the only thing that grossed me out was the head dicks. not the severed head near cunnilingus, not the dead cat, but the head dicks.

Watched From Beyond for homework. Reminded me a lot of The Thing. Loved it ofc. Kepp 'em coming lads.

Wow. GREAT Re-view. Thoroughly (fully and completely) enjoyed it.

No wonder Jay loves this movie. Dr. Dan Hill has a giant Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense poster above his bed. At 11:44 in the video.

There is a Hans Gruber character that preceded both die hard and the Stuart Gordon film (I can't remember which film at the time of typing this). A Hans Gruber makes an appearance in the 60s American bond ripoff "Our Man Flint" starring James Coburn. Which along with Dean Martin's Matt Helm series and the bond franchise were the key influences to Austin Powers...
