Boooooo Mike and Jay do a double feature of the original TV miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's IT as well as the new theatrical version of IT.

Should have an "it" word count!

Clowns... very cool

Sarah Low

*Those* two words could get a takedown notice... but good god

I never understood the hype surrounding IT. I read the book when I was about 12 or 13 and didn't remember a single thing. I always thought that the TV movie was a convoluted clusterfuck of mess. So yeah, I don't plan to see the 2017 adaptation. On an another note, great video!

I'm with Jay on the skin-crawling face-in-the-tree creepy visual long before fast-moving clown.

I'm still surprised they never used this song during the film's blood cleanup montage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wwac6mRHF2A

I really liked all the stuff about deadlights and macroverse turtles in the books! I didn't think it was a clusterfuck, and I got a lot more enjoyment out of this book than any other Stephen King book. That said, I don't think I'll watch this movie after hearing you guys talk about it because of that one line Jay said: It was a really good movie about kids getting together, and then this stupid horror movie kept getting in the way :) Thanks for your review, here's to more of them!

Did you notice that when Stan walked by the crooked scary picture, and then had to go back and straighten it, without saying a word you were told something about the character? He didn't even want to look at the thing, but when he noticed it was in disorder, he had to fix it. The movie did all sorts of great stuff like that, but you guys didn't talk about any of the interesting choices the film-makers made. Seemed like you were unhappy about the movie it wasn't instead of discussing the movie it was. Bummer!

Per the Internet (and aftercredits-dot-com), Pennywise laughs after the credits.

Interesting to hear you mention Lake Mungo Jay. I'd love to hear your opinions about that film, possibly in a re:view if you can be bothered? I didn't like it much and I'd love to hear what you saw in it

Just wanted to point out the picture of the space turtle in the review is Great A'Tuin The Star Turtle out of off of the late Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. This is the only concept that Pratchett and King's books share; I can confirm there are no underage gangbangs in any of the Discworld novels.

I honestly thought there was going to be a dig at Jack and his former clown days in the video.

And that ultimate kick in the balls: They are dragging it out into more movies. IT Chapter 1: The kids. Chapter 2: The in-between years. Chapter 3: The Chinese Restaurant. Chapter 4: Turtles in Space. Chapter 5: The Boring Conclusion with an even worse looking CGI spider.

There's another Stephen King-based mini-series from the 90's that's also generally well-regarded (and that has also aged badly, probably ?) : The Stand with Gary Sinise.

Literally using God as a Deus Ex Machina is always a sign of quality story telling.

same here. I am at the point where the jump scare stuff just makes me turn off movies.

I think Currys Pennywise is one of the best horror villains in history. He's certainly scarier than those horror icons from the 80's.
