I love Frieren vicariously enjoying the sunrise through Fern's reaction, and then realizing Himmel was right. She would've enjoyed the sunrise back then too, not because the sunrise was special at all, but because everyone else would've been there smiling. Personally I don't believe in an afterlife, but I love the simplicity of "Because it's more convenient that way." as the reason to believe in one. It's a breath of fresh air (for me) from real world religions and the myriad of reasons why each one of them say that they're "the correct one".

Personally I don't believe in an afterlife, cause imo it cheapens the experience of our current life. Life has is valuable precisely because it is so fleeting. Having a guaranteed eternity afterwards would just make it worthless.
