The void century was 800 to 900 years ago from Luffy's timeline and this is 30 years in the past which means she came from right in the middle of it.

tho they couldve said y, being that he was under yasuis care and only met him once, if ever, meaning he nvr cared for him but was only honoring yasui, mightve given enough doubt the yasui couldve become proxy or at least found a better choice. mayb even wouldve gotten odens retainers speaking against orochi and much prefering yasui more than any else. or something like that, their pretty outspoken, i think every1 except odens father had disdain and/or suspicion for orochi. the next best reason for him to b proxy that the shogun would likely give was that hed been with him for some yrs now and knew how he governed the country and much of what to do and had been trained well and stuff (not that he did a single good thing well likely see thru this arc)

Who is the "they" here? The words came from the Shogun's mouth himself so there's no reason to suspect anything. Yasuie is smart so he felt things were off, but a small suspicion isn't enough to act on. Oden was also as "free" as he could be on Wano so the retainers might find it off too, but they can't possibly know the ins and outs of all of Oden's relationships either.

good point, i mean that every1 doesnt like orochi even only at this point. tho they do know about his nonexistent relationship with orochi cuz of the reason hes given money to orochi solely out of obligation, oden also felt it was strange but continued anyway to honor yasuie (i just remembered there was an e for yasuie lol).

Oden is such like Luffy with his adventurous side, always going first when they arrive at a new island. I feel like Oden is Oda's way of writing Luffy if he got to be on Whitebeard's and Roger's crew lol.

Notice how Whitebeard considers Oden his "brother", while everyone else as his "Sons". I think it shows that whitebeard considers Oden as an equal in terms of strength, or on a similar level.
