This is my first read through so if you have some critiques let me know! So far reading the manga has been fun. The only difference to me at the moment is just how quick the manga is to getting to certain scenes while in the Anime it does have a lot more fluff, but I actually like and enjoyed the fluff the anime brought.

Fluff huh, indeed. Speaking of fluffy things, is there a chance we will have a somewhat fixed schedule for next year reactions? Also Beastars is fluffy (in a different way). Also also, I nominate Cautious Hero for your reaction roster.

I hope this continues to be a thing after you catch up to the chapters that the anime is currently covering. If you decide not to go past the anime's chapters would you still do this for the chapters that cover later episodes like as a monthly thing or something?

Generally one anime episode is like half a chapter for the manga.

I am going to do the read through until I get to where I am currently. Then after I react to each episode I plan to read the corresponding chapter in the manga and add into the end of the reactions.

read it the way you want to. My brain goes enjoy mode, when you do something one piece, Haikyuu, code geass, mha or even jojo related

this is really well done. i like this more then the anime reactions but i also prefer the manga so i may be alone with my opinion.

Glad your are reading the manga too. As someone who started as an anime-only watcher (who didn’t even know what manga was before WCI), I can say that the manga is great. Although I still do eagerly wait for new episodes each week. Hope you enjoy the best of both worlds.

the beginning portions of wano was done beautifully in the anime, noone had any complaints, but from here on out is where the anime falls downhill. if you choose to watch the anime and then read the chapter for that episode straight after, you'll know why manga readers have problems with the anime.

Like someone else said already, yes it is true in Wano the anime covers about half to .75/100 of a chapter per episode. So if you are going to read the chapter that corresponds with the episode then you are going to have to wait every 2 episodes :)

This is awesome but I highly suggest you read the official translation instead. What you are reading are the fan made translations and their translations can be inaccurate. Shonen Jump offers the latest three chapters for free but you can subscribe for $2 and get the entire official translated catalog for one piece and many more Shonen Jump mangas.

I didn't forget. I'm trying to have haikyuu and code Geass up tomorrow. Trying to play catch up. Editing the manga reading took more time than I anticipated.

I live both the anime and manga, but the “fluff” that you mentioned gets excessive at some point, a perfect example being the sumo match, and the back stories in the reverie arc. The back stories stuffed into that arc alone make up about 6-7 episodes of filler. That’s why I prefer the manga. I want to get to the meat of the story. Love the reaction tho! I’m sure you’ll see more of what I’m talking about as you continue to read.

Awesome! I really enjoyed this. Imo, the anime did a spectacular job on all episodes prior to 900 (right after Zoro vs Hawkins). After that we had the really bad pacing issues and then the filler fight scene problems with Luffy vs. Kaido. It's weird how they can flip flop so much. Pacing being bad is understandable, but they seemed to have a really good hold on in-canon filler prior to ep. 900. Like you even said, a lot of the scenes they added were nice to have and even made certain parts better. So it's odd how they can do so well a few months prior and yet change the entire feel and message of the Luffy vs. Kaido fight just a few months later. But anyways, looking forward to your future read throughs :)

Allona, remember that these are the beginning of wano, so that's why the anime was good, so you just wait and see until you reach the recent episodes. Also, these 4 chapters is equally to soo many anime episodes

With all of the love and support of the manga reading, why haven’t you done more????? It’s sooo good, and you’re really good at it. I listen to this shit while I’m at work, it passed the time greatly!
