I just had to upgrade my phone and my new one has a super good camera, so I was able to really easily take nice progress pictures even when I was out in a cafe, far from my scanner! Hopefully they look good to y'all, too.

This panel was really tricky for me to draw. I did like three rough drafts just to get the angle and placement of everything looking good. I hope I succeeded. It looks swell to me, at least!

My usual process starts with thumbnailing, then a rough sketch (though the one at the top is a little fleshed out.) Then I draw out the rest of the pencils til I got em looking good.

Then I ink the outlines and erase the pencils, leaving those very thin looking outlines behind. The pencils were done with the same width of pen that I do the bigger outlines with, but I've learned to do those after I erase, as some of the ink can become pale-looking after I've erased the pencils underneath! And that's what the next pic is, the second set of outlines I do to make it look real nice.

And lastly, I add in a bunch of blacks and hatching, and the thing is done.

Hey Abby! This is really awesome, thanks for sharing :) I for one really enjoy seeing process pics and development sketches, apart from being really interesting it gives you a better appreciation of exactly what goes into making a piece of art. Cheers!
