Hey, folks! Sorry for my lack of posts these past few months, I have been very hard at work on both that short horror comic and Earth Before Us 2. But I just finished the inks for EBU2, so I had a couple days left in the month and finally got to draw up these little comics about a trip I took to New York back in October! Thank you so much for your patience and continued support, you are all beyond wonderful.

I had a couple book-related events lined up in New York, so my publisher paid for my travel and accommodations and I got a couple days to see what all this "Big Apple" hubbub was about. The only thing I had on my agenda was to spend as long as possible sketching in the American Museum of Natural History, which was the best. I'll be posting those sketches in an upcoming post for $5+ patrons!

The highlight of my trip was definitely the family I ran into in the AMNH. That kid was so smart!! He and his dad were so nice and I will cherish that interaction in my heart forever. He told me about his pet guinea fowl and I was very jealous.

Also I very much enjoyed eating my sandwich in the near-empty bird zone where no one could see my crimes. A sandwich made all the sweeter by being illegal

Oh yeah, and I did that wine hour, and it was very complimentary and very all-you-can-drink. Is that what it's like to be a rich people? Everyone tries to give you as much wine as you could ever want?

YES going to bed early in NYC! You have my admiration for that move. (I just bought 5 more copies of EBU#1 for all my holiday gift giving needs, so excited for #2. Also, loved your SMBCs, I wish you could draw Zach's scripts every day!)

great travel writing/drawing. The Big Dino reminds me of Stephen Jay Gould's story about why he was a paleontologist -- he said he wandered into the Dino room, unknowingly, and turned around and was shocked by the huge monster right behind him. Your cartoon made it look like you were knocked down by the hugeness - that was how Steve felt.

The panels of you watching Bobby Flay's demise reminded me very much of The Merchant's Wife at Tea (and Mallory Ortberg's commentary on same on The Toast). Keep living your best life, man. You're doin it rite.

I have noticed that the richer you are, the less money you need to spend. WTAF.
