Here are some excerpts from my sketchbook! I'm not the cleanest or most thorough sketcher in the world, which is why I'm usually a little shy about posting bits from my sketchbook, but I am sure no one minds as much as I do.

I've scanned all the best bits from this year's sketchbook and will be posting these once a month for y'all! Expect a lot of ancient beasts, since this is the sketchbook I kept while working on my upcoming book about the Mesozoic.

Tracker 6 was a really tough design for me to work out for some reason, and I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with how it turned out, though I do really like their robe. But it wound up being a lil close to Susannah (Mona's monster)-- guess that's just an aesthetic I favor!

Anyway, I hope you're all well, and thank you so much for your support. It means the world to me! I've been doing a lot of edits to the tiers and fixing up how I run this thing to make it really worthwhile for the people who support my work, and I hope it's shaping up into something that brings you as much joy as you bring me.

Talk to you soon!

These are awesome! I love seeing this kind of behind-the-scenes stuff. I doubt anybody expects it to be neat or clean! I think that Tracker 6 and Susannah definitely have some similarities, but everything else about them is so different that they don't feel the same, any more than any two different people's fears about similar things. By the way, I recently got back in touch with one of my best friends as a kid, and it turns out that we're still really similar, so I asked her if she'd read Last Halloween. She emailed me back the next day and said she hadn't, so she'd checked it out that night and loved it so much she binged the entire thing! Now we're *both* waiting for updates. ^.^

Aw, what a lovely reunion with your friend! It's always nice reconnecting with people and realizing you still have so much to connect about, even though you've both grown and changed. And thanks for recommending TLH ;)
