Whenever I get a request for something I haven't read or watched before, I try to read up on wikis, look through some manga pages/chapters, and/or watch some clips on youtube. 

With that in mind, I learned a little bit about mahjong since one of the requests was for Saki! ...Not a lot, and I didn't really utilize any of that when making the scene. If I knew mahjong better, I would have made sure the tiles around them had a joke or deeper meaning to them. Well, maybe a project for the future: become a mahjong master!!
