Hello Diamond Hard Patrons!

The sixth artwork suggestion box of this round is about to be chosen. Please have a look, suggest, and like the ideas you like most.

The suggestion box has really been a successful feature of the Diamond Hard tier, and I would like to continue with it. However, for the next round of six artworks, I would like to refine the rules so that it is fair to you and fair to me as well. How have you liked the suggestion box so far? Are there aspects that you enjoy or dislike? Here is your opportunity to comment before the September suggestion box.

A few things I would like to bring up, I kept the rules as loose as possible, so that there would be less restrictions. But a few things are popping up that make it difficult to make artwork. Here are a few points:

-Suggestions were meant to be for artwork only, not animation. I have more recently been getting paragraphs of story that makes it very hard to illustrate effectively.

-Suggestion ideas are starting to become repetitive. It becomes hard to make the ideas more unique from each other.

-Some suggestions deal with characters that I have a set idea for, and wish not to accept ideas that deviate from the ideas that I have for them. Switch Gaymers and Star Love Zero Gravity are examples.

-Some of the suggestion winners are repeat patrons. The suggestions are good! But I am not sure if it becomes unfair for other patrons.

-Some patrons suggest two or more ideas in one month.

What I would like to know from you is, what do you think of tightening the rules? Is it better to keep the rules more open, or is it better to make it so that it is more fair for everyone? Are you happy with the window of time to vote? Is the way the suggestion box set up a bit too unfair for patrons who suggest too late? Should I make a reminder before the cutoff date, or make a poll? I will implement new rules and guidlines for the next suggestion box.

Having said that, I think this last round of artworks has been really amazing. I am not sure which one will become an animation! But come September, you will all have a chance to vote on what will become an animation! Please comment, the info is very valuable. Thank you all!

Maybe to have more diverse ideas in the long term you could impose a theme yourself based on the time of the year, an event, whatever.

For me it's more important that You don't feel somehow restricted or forced as an author as it might not be beneficial for either You or us the patrons in the long run.

Hi Maruten, I do get your point about the long paragraphs and that they become more storylines than artwork descriptions - and I do include myself being guilty here 😜 However sometimes it helps to really understand the intention of the submitter and I think you have perfectly chosen the right "moments" for your artwork. I guess it also gives you some creative freedom to chose a certain aspect of the submission and therefore also reduce repetitive motifs. I don't know if you could set a length limit for the submissions?

As for your other points: 1) I think it would be fair to exclude the winner of a month from next month's submission round 2) I think it is also fair to limit submission to one per month per patron 3) For me personally it would be fine if all your original characters are excluded from the submissions 4) Ideas can be resubmitted a maximum of three times if they don't win
