Style Guide WIP (Patreon)

Hello Steel and DIamond Hard Patrons!

The next animation project to look forward to is... Star Love: Space Pirates!

However, there has been so much in the way of properly tackling the project, that I feel like I am quite behind. There are several versions of the script, and I am trying to choose which is the best way to go with the story. Some concept art had been done in the past months, but simply not enough to get as much as I want to do. Added to that are several side projects such as merchandise research, and some burnout (more frequent since February) that I had to get checked at a clinic.

If Star Love episode 2 will need to be a success, I have taken it upon myself to organise delegation of tasks. I hired a helper to research merchandise on the side for me, and some of my assistants are more free to help me as well. And don't worry about my health, I know what I must do to manage it. Thankfully, delegating will certainly help me.

That is why I have made a "Style Guide", so that other animators can help me with many of the other tasks I usually do myself, such as eye and mouth charts, lipsync, colouring, and hopefully posing and key drawings. I have never made these before, and they can get quite comprehensive. I have found though that if I wanted to be thorough with teaching how I go about with drawing, that it could become a book. As such, this is not a complete style guide, and it may so happen that I will continue adding or refining parts.

The images themselves are meant only for my assistant animators, and not complete. But there is enough information that I can delegate other tasks. I have made a video of how things are shaping up.

I wonder, would you be interested in also having access to the style guide? In the industry, such style guides and model sheets are meant to be for internal use only, but inevitably they get out there. And after all, many anime have books published with such art guides!
