GENIE'D! Important Announcement (Patreon)

First off I just want to say that since the realistic style won the style poll, that's what I'll be using for The Ahn'Ger Stone images. However, that's not the point of this post.

GENIE'D! is hereby placed on INDEFINITE hiatus pending cancellation.

Unfortunately the individual that was putting the comic together no longer has any interest in doing so. I'm attempting to salvage the situation. 

I will be getting all of the assets used in the creation of the comic and attempting to create the pages myself either using the same AI the individual was using or trying to use Midjourney. However, I don't know if this will work out.

I attempted to reach out to an artist to draw the comic by hand for once a month uploads, at least just to get Chapter 3 finished but they were not interested.

So if I am unable to find an artist within the price range I can afford to make the pages or am unable to put the comic together myself, GENIE'D! will be cancelled and the comic ends with the end of Chapter 2.

There is a tiny silver lining in all of this.

If you voted for Avengers High, the artist I mentioned above is extremely interested in pursuing that project as a hand-drawn comic. It might not be GENIE'D!, but it's something, right?

If I am able to use Midjourney to continue making the comic myself, production will be slow and it will look extremely different. Given how much I'm going to have to generate stuff, I may have to end putting images in The Ahn'Ger Stone and other Midjourney produced image captions in order to preserve my fast generation times with the program.

If you were only here for the comic, please stick around for a bit longer while I search for a solution. Your generous contributions are extremely appreciated and I'd hate to see you go.

I am extremely disappointed, disheartened, and honestly pretty depressed about this. This comic was very dear to me. I know it might not have been the best comic out there, but it was just really encouraging and uplifting to me to know that for ONCE, a project of mine was actually seeing the light of day. It was a tiny little sliver of seeing my dreams realized. And now that it has crashed down around me like everything else I've ever tried to do?

Yeah. I mean #firstworldproblems and I'm not starving or in a warzone or have a illness or a family member dying or anyhting like that, but I'm not in a good head space right now. I wasn't really before and this news did not help things.

It's one thing for your entire family to go 'you can't be a success as a creative. You have no future as a creative. You'll never write a novel or draw a comic so you shouldn't even try. Get a real job' and yeah, that's CRUSHING...But then to actually see it start to happen and then see it fall right in front of your face? It's almost a worse feeling than having the people that should support whatever you do ripping your dream to shreds and pissing on the remains.

It really sucks.
