Even a good actress like Martina can benefit from a mirror whilst looking away from the camera, just to give a purpose to her gaze, and not just plant it on the empty wall.

The direct gaze inside the lens is still one of the best way to engage the model, but a mirror deserves to be used frequently, just for a change, and even if you don't see it in the actual frame.
From the look alone of Martina you can tell she's not looking at the wall or a television, she is looking at herself and playing with her image, entirely for our benefit.
