Most of my pictures are made with a vertical orientation of the camera which, in technical terms is called "portrait" mode.
That's because portraits (and nudes) photography is generally of someone standing vertical.
As opposed to that, horizontal orientation is called "landscape" because it is more suited to this kind of photographic genre.

That doesn't mean that you can't do a horizontal portrait or a vertical landscape, it is just a way to oversimplify typical of the english speaking cultures (particularly the American).

This picture of Slim is a clear example of how to make a nude portrait in landscape orientation and still get a sexy image, where you can move your gaze from one side to the other and explore all the tattoos covering her skin in detail.
Rules are meant to be broken, with the exception of my rule to photograph only girls that are fully nude!
