Surfing is an old concept, now the couch has to be ridden.
I'm back working on my last shooting with Stella, this amazing blonde model.
I'm glad to do it because I need data and impressions about the new Leica SL2s pared with the Summicron lenses before I make new shootings with it.
The results are very pleasing, and it works particularly well on nordic complexions like the one of Stella.
She has a nice soft and smooth focus on the eyes, until you find a hair in the same plane of focus, and you realise how sharp it is.
I guess Japanese lenses are boosting the contrast to give a greater perception of sharpness, but this German lens rely solely on the natural optical effect of a very good glass.
Whatever the reason, I'm starting to love this lenses... I mean, even more than before.
Checking on the backstage video, in this moment I was using the 50mm at f2.8.
This is the oldest constantly produced design lens in the current Leica catalog (excluding the recently resurrected classics).
I wonder how much Leica has changed its philosophy concerning lenses in this high count Megapixel era... and can't afford to check 😅
