I was so happy when I finally could afford to stop using the Sony A7!
I hated every minute using my first mirrorless camera even if I was getting good pictures out of it, because it felt like a toy and just didn't click (funny to say that about a camera...) albeit I admire how it is still soldiering on making the backstage videos you love so much.

But now that I will stop using the Panasonic S1 as my main camera I'm not as happy.
It has been a great tool, a capable and professional second mirrorless camera body  that was a joy to use and always delivered great results (this picture of Manya was shot on the Panasonic, by the way).
The S1 will become the spare body and will take on some of the video tasks, in a way it is still going to be a great tool in my camera bag, but it was never going to be more than that.

From my MAIN camera I need something more, it has to become a part of me, directly wired to my brain and to my heart.
It is the same with my cars: I don't want just a capable car, I want my Caterham Seven, or my Mazda MX5, both good tools to take you from one point to the next, but also capable of providing emotions along the way and an emotional bond even when they are parked in the garage.
Photography is my main passion, and the right gear is an important motivation to make the best possible job out of it.

I am getting this kind of satisfaction out of my Leica M240 every time I use it, even after all these years, and even if in some situations it is not performing well enough for modern standards.
I hope to get the same satisfactions out of the just arrived Leica SL2-s, albeit with an all new level of performances from the modern sensor!

I still respect most of my old camera bodies, like the S1, the Nikon D810, or even the compact Fujifilm X100V, but only as useful tools for specific jobs.
The poor Sony A7 is the only one I really hate 😂
