Later today I will be shooting, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, this was a last minute arrangement with Martina.

Not sure I will manage to give you a preview tomorrow, I will come back from Milan very late and time is tight, but I can tell you more about the apartment and what I'm planning to do...

Not the glamorous apartment I was hoping for, but I'm planning to take a spotlight with me, a very old and battered incandescent light lamp I have been using for the last 30 years.
It was bought when I was working as a restorer, and it is still dirty with paint and mortar, but at least the amount of light available should not be a problem while shooting...
If this dinosaur of a lamp does prove useful, I will definitely consider investing in a modern 200 Watt led unit to take with me on every shooting (at least during the Winter season).
Surely the dedicated studio lights would be better in terms of shaping the light, but they are not as cheap or easy to carry around.
After all, what really matters is the amount of light the lamp can do, and that's the reason why I want to experiment with the old unit I have.
The new led lamps are really interesting and tough, because they are designed to work on construction sites and are weather resistant, some are even battery powered, but I will stick to a unit with cable only.

Back to Martina and the apartment, I have seen some pictures and the place is very small, like most of Milan apartments, but also very long.
So long, in fact, I will risk taking the Nikon 180mm hoping to manage some pictures with it; I've calculated that if I stay in the bathroom, and Martina in the bedroom, with the corridor in the middle, I might take some interesting shots.
Along with the 180mm I will take the Voigtländer Nokton 58mm f1.4 SL II, and the Contax-Zeiss Planar T* 100mm f2.

I'm also planning to leave most of the house in the dark, and use my strong lamp mainly on Martina.
When I start shooting the first frames, all plans might be crushed, but it still helps to make some predictions 😉

This picture was taken during our last shooting together, if you remember I was complaining about the ugliness of the apartment, the lack of light and my personal dislike of flashes... I hope this new shooting is going to address most of those issues!

Of one thing I'm pretty sure: Martina is going to be the usual beauty, the one element that can change the final result, the only component I can give for granted.
