Sometimes making an intimate photo is not about making the best composition, especially with my way of working.
Once I've accurately focused on a significant expression of the eyes, and I zoom out inside the electronic viewfinder, I might find out that I'm too close to my subject, and that I can't get everything I want inside the frame.
I could move back, refocus, and recompose, but that special expression would have been lost forever, so most of the time I take the picture anyway, because even if I cut something out, what is left inside is worth the shot.
Cristiana in this photo is a good example, even if the top of the head is cut and the fingers are too close to the edge of the frame, I couldn't miss that light in the eyes, because that is precisely the expression that is going to keep us awake at night.

Agreed. As much as I appreciate every inch of Cristiana's body, as long as we can see her eyes, nothing else matters.
