 **GREEN AND RED GHOSTLY HEADPHONE WARNINGS**  

I can't believe we're already to the "Rule of 8," but what a rule it is! I'm so excited! We meet the second "Great Calamity," and he is quite the trash king but I love him already! The drip, the censoring of his words! The way Hua Cheng does NOT like him!?   

It makes for a Fantastic episode that's my favorite so far! More, please!!

I'd say MQ got brought up by XL with the hanging corpse is due to him once being the errand boy and is responsible for sweeping the floor etc etc, cleaning in summary. And this corpse forest might be seen as 'ultimate filth' for MQ, or at least XL thought so. And we do get the part in the last episode where MQ instantly got pissed when FX splashed muddy water on his face. As for FX got brought up, I think it might be that he's the most foul-mouthed person XL know. I believe there wasn't loads of people who dared cursing around the crown prince and later after the kingdom fall, there isn't really anyone close to XL anymore, loving to curse or not. So the range of comparison objects is very limited. And also since we know that in fact XL, QR, FX, MQ, HC are all connected and are actually some of the very few reminants of the old Xian Le kingdom, it's reasonble for XL to think about old times. I know QR's known for bad taste, but this green eyeliner + purple lipstick makeup choice is still a bit too much for my eyes......And especially after the flashback scene in this episode, I'm confident to say that QR and XJ shared the same dark purple lipstick at some point, the color is almost identical.

That does make a lot more sense with FX and MQ being brought up this episode, so thank you for that -- all the family reunions, right?! It's so hard "not" saying anything at this point for the donghua-onlies, but I know how you all feel now! And honestly, I LOVE QR's look -- but purple and green are my favorite colors, so maybe THAT'S why I love the design and colors so much?! It's just perfect for our trash king and I love it! Thank you for the kind words and comment! :D

And there we have him!!! Qi Rong!!! He’s gorgeous and honestly everything I hoped for in the donghua. They’ve animated him so well, the VA got his craziness down, and his design is so pretty for no reason but im not complaining at all 🤣🤣🤣 also, the way they censored his cussing was so funny and honestly the best way they could have done it. I know back in season one, they had to cut down on Feng Xin’s script bc he cusses a lot in the books, but I almost would have preferred if they also censored him with beeps. That would have been hilarious!! And i forgot how epic Hua Cheng’s last line is—that whole scene had me screaming with excitement. They really seem to be milking this arc for this season, and it makes me wonder where on earth they are planning to end the season with. And if they are ending it with only 12eps, I feel like they’ll be speedrunning to at least get to the mausoleum scene at the end of volume 2 before the flashback. Although, it has me curious if maybe they’re stretching it bc they’ve already confirmed there will be more seasons for this series or maybe OVAs planned out to tackle when we go into Xie Lian’s past. There’s something I wanted to point out about Jun Wu that I didn’t notice until I rewatched the dub of episode 6, but when Xie Lian’s arm was injured from intervening in Hua Cheng and Lang Qianqiu’s fight, Jun Wu had only just stopped the bleeding and cleaned his robes. He didn’t actually heal the wound, Mu Qing had to give Xie Lian that potion thing to heal it up completely. And it was such a minute thing but it was like that Bai Wuxiang part of him revealed itself in that moment, because Jun Wu definitely, being the strongest god of the heavens, could have easily healed up Xie Lian’s arm. But instead, he chose to only fix the outer appearance to enforce this pretense of doting on Xie Lian. And now that we know how manipulative and toxic of a person he is, it really plays into Jun Wu trying to be this upstanding reliable presence within Xie Lian’s life and yet want nothing more than to tear him down and let him suffer just as he had suffered. Just as he could take away Xie Lian’s pain, he deliberately chooses not to. And this scene that could be so easily overlooked showcases that manipulative power. Anyways, great reaction!! Can’t wait to see your reaction for this week’s episode!!

I'm in LOVE with how Qi Rong has been presented in this episode! It's sooooo amazing! I love so much about him and I have no clue where the season will end or if we'll get an OVA later this spring -- at this point, I'm just along for the ride to find out! :) And OHHHHHH wow, I did NOT realize that about Jun Wu and that moment with XL!
