OOHHHH, We are feeling the "temperatures rising" in this episode, as the Wind Master and Xie Lian confront Hua Cheng, learn some secrets about the Earth Master, and start a chaotic brawl in the middle of Paradise Manor!  

But that's not all in this packed episode! We also learn some secrets about our favorite scrap collector as well that places him as maybe NOT quite the cinnamon bun we thought he was? There's a LOT going on and a lot to talk about in this episode! And now we have to wait two WEEKS? How dare!

As much as they're a tad more subtle with the innuendo, there's nothing subtle about the size the donghua made E'Ming 😆 Hua Cheng laughing, we all need more of that! But also him laughing out of pure happiness with his gege, and not this derisive laughter (which I did still enjoy). I truly adore Shi Qingxuan taking the time to change their clothes 🥰 Donghua really just gotta hit us with Xianle trio feels with how Feng Xin and Mu Qing react to Xie Lian being injured 🥺 Hits way harder when you know how they all ended up going their separate ways. Xie Lian needs a friend like Shi Qingxuan that will stand up for him like that. Jun Wu cannot deny he has favourites considering the difference in how he reacted to injured Ming Yi and injured Xie Lian. Baby Lang Qianqiu is adorable! Makes it all the harder knowing what he faced just several years later. Though in seeing in the donghua Lang Qianqiu injure himself to make matters more fair in his duel against Xie Lian, immediately following from seeing Xie Lian save him made me realise: the student is like the teacher. Xie Lian causes himself self-harm way too many times to count, or brushes off the idea of getting hurt to make things fair/just, and now we see that his student from when he was the Fangxin Guoshi is quite similar. With how cruel they've been on where to leave us for this two-week hiatus, I really do think Season 2 is going to end at a cruel place too and leave donghua-onlies begging for more 😆 To be fair, Lang Qianqiu is also a Martial God, so not as big a difference in the fighting abilities between Lang Qianqiu and Xie Lian, in comparison to a god like Shi Qingxuan. So excited that we're likely to get Qi Rong for Christmas. Fitting too with his colour scheme matching the one for Christmas (green for his clothes and the lanterns his minions don, and red for the blood of the people he eats...) 😅

I just want to point out two things I found interesting in this episode. First, I don’t remember if they said it in the novel, but when the heavenly official’s see injured Ming Yi, they say that the Earth Master is “a phantom, never seen but always heard of”. Which reminded me of how similar that description is to the way they described the Black Water back in season 1—that he rarely appears and very few have crossed paths with him but they are aware of his existence. FORESHADOWING AT ITS PEAK 👌👌👌 Second, and someone may have pointed this out already, but when Lang Qianqiu breaks his arms, the view pans over to Feng Xin. Because in Book 2, I think it was after Qi Rong and the carriage incident, Feng Xin hits him and as punishment for raising his hand to a royal, Feng Xin breaks his own arm. It was so cool of the donghua team to have that little tidbit added to prepare for potentially the Book 2 flashback. Anyways, that’s all I have to say for this ep. I can’t believe we have to wait two weeks until the donghua returns 😭😭😭 Although, I heard this hiatus was pre-planned in the scheduling, so I don’t think it was like there was a specific issue with the show that caused the hiatus. I guess I’ll stick with listening to the English dub to fill the void for now, im very much enjoying the Wind Master’s English dub voice! But the original/subs will forever be my favorite version. E'Ming is...uhm...HUGE. So, thank you donghua, for that thought. Haha! And seriously, Hua Cheng laughing just SLAYS ME. And yes, we need that pure laugh, not just the one where he's clearly angry...And any scene with SQX is appreciated! And after Book 4, SO MUCH of this is hitting harder, let me say! Especially with BeefLeaf, with JW, with MQ and FX, ALL OF IT! Oohhhh, that is a REALLY good note about self-harm, and how XL essentially "rubbed off" on LQQ in that regard. :'( And SERIOUSLY, I have a feeling the donghua-only folks are going to HATE where we leave off as well! AND QI RONG FOR CHRISTMAS! AHHHH! The color scheme, the lanterns, the FAMILY DINNER! It's so fitting! :D Thank you for the kind words and comment! I cannot WAIT!

Yesssss, the FORESHADOWING! That description of MY here matching that of the Black Water is so good and I'm smacking my forehead for not connecting the dots sooner!! Ooohhhhh, I did NOT notice that with FX and the pan to him breaking his arm! Ooohhh, that's a really good catch! I'll have to note that for episode 6! It's going to be hard waiting for 2 weeks for the next episode, BUT, I may take this time to watch the English dub and catch up! :) That's a great idea! Thank you for the kind words and comment!
